Disruption is a game created by theknockout

Hello, and welcome to my second review. Today I'll be reviewing Disruption, by theknockout. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this game, and it's a bit of a mystery why this member isn't noticed perhaps as much as he deserves to be. If you're not convinced now, I hope you will be by the end.

Gameplay

The Gameplay begins rapidly, with you being thrusted into the action without a moment to even think. You get bombarded with a vast array of attacks, and the gamer has to weave his way out of trouble if he is to survive in the hostile, yet eerily wonderful environment that theknockout paints. Health is very scarce, meaning you have to be efficient and resourceful with what you have. You have to navigate quickly in this game to win, something I struggle at doing. Nonetheless, I managed to reach the Blue Key and by then it was a matter of do or die.

I died. Multiple times.

But wait, that's aside the point! I found the general aspects of this game to be sound. Theknockout put all the pieces required to make a good shooter and mixed them admirably well. Now, onto a more detailed analysis:

Puzzle

Theknockout does a good job placing switches. Some are necessary, while others are actually deceptive, although you may not know it. I didn't find strong signs of puzzle, but when I did, it was done to good standard.

Placement

As previously stated, theknockout placed his switches effectively. The Bugmeisters were also utilised well, too well if you ask me, resulting in the difficulty of the game to sky rocket greatly. All in all though, I had few complaints on this matter.

18/25

Design

The design set out by theknockout has a very nice rustic feel to it. I really loved how he kept it simple but at the same time made it feel chic. I'm probably overrating this category, but I just feel the design added a welcome dimension to an already good game.

20/25

Fun

Something that obviously matters in a game is whether it's enjoyable or not, and I thought Disruption was. It wasn't overly entertaining but it kept me interested throughout. I felt perhaps a plot would enthral the viewer a lot more. Nonetheless, I was satisfied to a sound degree.

17/25

Overall: 70/100

Conclusion

I found Disruption to be a good game which exceeded my initial expectations. the flow of the game is very quick making it a welcome addition to a growing number of good action shooter games. If there's anything I'd like it would be a plot. You've shown us your talent with the mouse, what about the pen?

So, is this feature worthy?

No, not really. I don't think Disruption had the detail I would look for in a feature worthy game. While it was good, it felt indecisive in the sense that it lacked the special spark or great creativity that a feature worthy game would have. I think theknockout, however, has a lot of potential and can only do better. I look forward to playing more of his games.

Thank you for reading.
