I know the games not the best but this is the story:
Root was on his own. Truth to be told, that was the way he liked it. No science. No uppity centaur whinnying in his ear. Just a fairy, his wits and maybe a touch of magic. Root tilted his polymer wings, hugging the underside of a fogbank. There was no need to be careful. With his shield activated, he was invisible to the human eye. He entered the ancient whaler. Holly's locater was bleeping fast. Somewhere within 200 meters was the hopefully still breathing body of captain short. 5 minutes later he was in the room that the locater bleeped the fastest. Root scanned with his infrared goggles. No sign of life. Strange. He went to the end of the room. There was holly's locater, on a cardboard box. It said " Open if you wish to find Captain short" Root opened it. A recorder activated and said " Your friend is with me. Now, observe the box." Root looked.
"D'Arvit" he said. (there is no point translating this as it would have to be censored)
In the box, was 10 kilograms of pure Semtex. "Fly little fairy, and tell your friends Artemis Fowl the second says hello." Root noticed a string of numbers counting down from ten. A countdown! "D'Arvit" Root said again. This would take some fancy flying...
Can you do this fancy flying and get out? The crystal is the door...
