Well, this time I didn't get proven wrong atleast. I actually expected some decent game to come from 2009, seeing his maturity level and stuff. (I've never really played any of his games, but now that I have... nice..) Well, i'm glad this turned out to be such a classic looking game. Nothing gawky, nothing totally artsy or nothing totally over the top. I'm glad. Although, seeing as I can never win, this game was extremely difficult to me for the first few times, hence the opening quote.
Well, as I said before, this game can really make you think how good a game can be with making it simple yet such complex line mazes. Heck, it wasn't even a maze, it was just a twisting path of action. I appreciated the fact if was so straight forward and seemed to be bold with that decision, because he makes the gameplay so... drawn out (in a good way) that you want to know what is next and when it will end or how.
I was started out in some nitro. The average cliche. Although, little did I know this nitro would fatally screw me over a few times. Now, I thought it was a mistake that is only brought me down a little over 1 quarter of health left. Although, this game can really reduce your health and fast, due to the small map area, meaning you have to do combat, and be real good at it too if you want to survive. I thought this was aspect was cool, whether or not 2009 planned it, because it seems he gave the perfect amount of health to ration for both stealth AND combat.
Well, the difficulty, as I may of said something of before (>.>) is hard, but isn't really a problem at all. Actually, the difficulty can be fun. Actually, like tookewl said to me. "In this game, you basically learn your mistakes, and what to actually do each part as you pass each part." Well this game is like that. You learn from your mistakes, and learn how the map is.
The lag is absolutely no problem for me. This right here I am very impressed about, and I don't mean the game was slowed down or anything, because it wasn't. It was a fast enough lagless game. Nothing much to say here, good job though.
The whole game itself is in itself such a good game, that I can't really bag on anything about what it's meant to be. It's meant to be an action game, yet turned out what I believe to be more. I literally see nothing wrong with this game.
Although, the one thing, and one thing that brings it down a whole lot is ofcourse the fact that it's not original or 'new' or 'cool' or... 'hip'. Yes, the game I admit is very good, but it just doesn't cut it for being a perfect game. When I said perfect in itself, it means 2009 did a perfect job making the game the way it was supposed to be made. Although, this game offers no sequences real new or anything (Exception for some like that one pusher thing at the beginning) Although, this doesn't bring it down to like a 60% or anything. And yes, I got to see those big rooms with some epic sequences in them, such as the ending nitro one. (Well done cliche) although, more of that and originality would've brought it up.
