This is a review of Revenge, by manurthebest. This review will kick off the start of *WellDone Reviews* as it's first.

*Pre-thoughts*

The storyline for this game is: "You have been held hostage in your own home. The criminals want your crystals. "In the wrong hands this could do great damage" said the wizard that gave them to you. Still to this day you don't know why the wizard gave them to you. But not all is lost yet. The criminals don't know that you are very clever scientist with a very strange house. You have got teleporters and underground tunnels to your aid. Use them well, the world might depend on it. can you collect the crystals and escape?" This shows promise, so let's see if manurthebest will live up to my expectations.

*After-thoughts*

This game starts out with an ~excellent~ puzzle that I haven't seen anywhere else. In the puzzle, you must destroy the big mutant but also force him backwards before you do so that he hits the orange switch when he dies. It took me a couple tries to get this. The next part of the game has a well-placed crusher coming out of a wall you must climb, though this wasn't very difficult. Then there is a hidden switch, which activates a crusher and in my haste, hit a trap: the green switches. Ugh, time to try again. And again. And again. Curse you, green switches! I'll sum it up by saying this game was frustrating.

Power-ups in Revenge in pretty good, not excellent, but pretty good. A few cookies after the mutant and the crusher. An extra life after a while. The highlight of this game was definitely the traps and puzzles. This game forced you press the dreaded (gulp) reload button more often than not. A trap I didn't like in this game was the green switch trap, it seemed impossible to get past because of how close together they were. Like I said, curse you, green switches!! I finally did get past them, though.

Enemy placement was adequate, starting out better than average with that first trap, but then placement got worse after a while. It was a little disappointing because it started out so good but then fell to average. The scenery of the game must have taken a long time to create, since it's a pretty decent-sized game, but manurthebest left out some places in the middle, which didn't really give me a "house" (or should I say mansion?) kind of feel, because I don't think a real house would have holes going through it.

The game map was pretty good, good size overall, good length (especially because you have to press the reload button so many times). It's fun-factor was good, though the frustration level of it made it decline a bit. I didn't understand how the criminals could be such things as Snarleys and mutants, but OK. Game-play kind of declined after the middle, like enemy placement did but not as much. I loved the mutant puzzle at the beginning, it was the perfect way to start the game. Well, I don't have anything more to say about manurthebest's Revenge, so it's time for the ratings!
