Sketch 2 UPDATED is a game created by nitrogendioxide

Hello and welcome to another review by captainlex. Today I will be reviewing Sketch 2 UPDATED by nitrogendioxide. I didn't like the original version of this game, with all the things that made it so boring and frustrating, but I decided to give this one a try.

In his review, lordeldar gave it a 2/10, but I think Sketch 2 UPDATED deserves more than that. This game consists of 5 levels, the first level being the updated, way less frustrating version of Sketch numero uno. Instead of those frustrating, annoying spinning elevators, he put stairs (YAY) and instead of the pentagon-shaped character that just couldn't jump right he put a circle-shaped rolling, easy-to-control one (YAY). THANK YOU. I mean seriously, I must have cut the time I made it through in half because of these changes. I do wonder, though, why he named it Sketch 2 when the 1st is in it... but, who cares?

Avoiding the enemies was easier but still pretty hard due to the new, rounder character. The stairs still provided a small challenge to get up but were also much easier and less frustrating. Level 2 was smaller in comparison to level 1, but still had good game-play and even a neat spider that shot down. Level 3 was frustrating with the angled platforms (at least they didn't spin) but was only a short segment. Level 4 wasn't much of a level, so no thoughts there, and level 5 was pretty cool with little frustration. All that added up to some good game-play with a few frustrating spots but not too many.

As for scenery, well, it was what you'd expect judging from Sketch the first, with its controversially cool/not-cool black and white lines with spots here and there of color. I'd say the scenery good enough to go along with mood and what little there was of storyline (which was kind of lacking but provided some info on why the game looks like it does). My personal favorite for scenery was the last level, the one where you rob the bank. That was pretty cool.

I don't like, however, how easy Sketch is. I got through it, no problem except for a little frustration on level 3 (which is good to some extent). I don't see how it has a difficulty of "10" (wierd, right?). Level 5 you couldn't lose at, same with level 4 (although that's more of a transition level).

Well, I can't think of anything else to say, so it's time for the ratings!
