MISSION is a game created by mjduniverse

Introduction

Hello, and welcome to my 76th review, and today I'll be reviewing MISSION by mjduniverse. I've never played a game from mjduniverse before, so I had no expectations what so ever, but seeing as he has made over 400 games on the website in about one year, I was expecting at least an average game. Now time to move on to the review.

Review

MISSION is a four levelled long action packed platform game. If I'm honest though, the game play was poor. MISSION was too much of a basic game for me and there was nothing in it that completely stood out. It was all just one straight path along, meaning you have no options really apart from how you will fight. MISSION was very repetitive as well, not so much with the enemies and hazards, but with what the style was like, which was pretty much going in one direction. There was also no challenge for keys and power up's, as there was a couple of times where you'd run in to a key and the door for it was right by. Same applied for maces and switches etc. MISSION was way too easy for me as well, and I think anyone (including newbies) would be able to beat this with four whole lives, which meant MISSION had absolutely no challenge in it at all. I was also disappointed by the fact that sometimes you didn't need to go and get a key for a door because you had already got the one for it previously, so in those situations, mjduniverse should have used something like a switch instead. Anyway, time to move on to the placement in MISSION.

MISSION had a variety of enemies and hazards in, from thugs to ninja's and hot blocks to spikes, which was great to see rather than just Archie's all the time or whatever. As well as a variety of enemies, there was also a good variety of power-up's. There were a lot of enemies and hazards as well, which kept me entertained. However, there was a huge overload of power-ups, which made MISSION pretty easy. MISSION also had the usual and boring enemies and hazards in, and I would have liked to have seen a few more exciting ones like Snarley's or lava. Enemies were also bunched together as well, so it would have been good if mjduniverse decided to spread them out a bit instead. Enemy placement was very sloppy as well with them being easy to avoid as you can often jump over them. That's it for the placement though, now to talk about the scenery.

The scenery in MISSION was pretty good. It had a lot of decoration put in to it, and it was very varied as well instead of just the same tile throughout the whole game. MISSION also had some pretty cool lighting effects as well to make the game look realistic. However, what did let me down was that the scenery did look a bit sloppy, and could have been more neat and organised.

MISSION is also a very action packed game as I've already mentioned in the beginning of the review. It is a fun game which kept me entertained for most of the time. That did let me down until the end though, as the game did start to get boring after a while, but that was just before the game ended, so it wasn't too bad. I did like how MISSION didn't lag though, and mjduniverse did prevent that because he used levels to stop that happening, which was a good idea. Anyway, that's it for the review. Now on to the final stages.

Positives:

- Decorative scenery

- Action packed game

- Variety of enemies/hazards

Negatives:

- Terrible game play

- Sloppy placement

- No challenge

Ratings (Out of five):

Action: ____/_____

Game play: _/_____

Placement: __/_____

Scenery: ____/_____

Overall, this game rounds up to a 3/5. Altogether, MISSION is a good game. It has some great action and scenery, but the placement and game play let's it down for me. I wouldn't exactly say you should certainly play this game right away, but if you have the time, I'd say you might as well.
