Pre-thoughts

Prepare to be amazed, when the magnificent Dudki decides to review yet, another game. This time, I bring you Rush Hour by xploder584. Xploder is a cool guy and a fairly good game-creator. He is somewhat skilled with the classic shooter, and all of his games focus around that creator. I had this game suggested to me in my reviewing service, and when I noticed it was a shooter, I wasn't too excited. My big talent in shooter games is that...Wait, hold on. There IS no talent. Out of all creators, shooters are probably the one I'm worst at. I just don't get them. But this game was enough to catch my interest and I decided to review it.

First things first, the thumbnail. If you guys didn't notice, it is supposed to represent a clock. Shocking I know. Even I had trouble figuring that out. In all seriousness though, awesome thumbnail. Looking really good, and I like the tension to detail that has been put in. It suits the title, Rush Hour, very well.

Review

So, what about the game itself? Is it good. Heck yeah it is. This game is an action-packed shooter with the only objective of gathering a few things, BUT, you're on a time-limit. This means that you need to be quick and you basically have to keep moving forward in order to survive in this game. I really like these kinds of shooter games. One of the very few types that I do like.

The map layout of Rush Hour was overall, pretty good. However, at times I did find it a bit sloppy and rushed. That being said, I did not find that it ruined the game in any way, only the looks. I did find that it wasn't too much of a problem, but it still did deduct a few points in my overall rating. There's nothing else to say to that.

One thing I really liked about Rush Hour, is that the game featured some minor artwork in the very beginning of the game. This got me excited, as I normally really enjoy a shooter game with a lot of great artwork. However, I got dissapointed. Why? Let me tell you why. Literally only the beginning contains artwork, and then you won't see anymore of it. Made me shed a tear.

Action was the focal point of this game. The entire game was basically about battling and avoiding different enemies, and I really like these kinds of shooter games. The intensity of this game was what made me keep going over and over again, and if you like this "adrenaline-rush" type of game, this is a game for you. xploder did a nice job on this aspect of the game.

Puzzles? Nah. You won't see any of those. This game was all about action and I can't say that the non-existing puzzles is a bad thing. Afterall, for this game, no puzzles is perfect, since it would partially ruin the action aspect Rush Hour. This allows you to focus on what the game is all about. Shootin' and flyin'.

The placement was alright at some points, but I also found some objects and enemies poorly placed, meaning that you would in some points get stuck or have a hard time getting trough certain places. I'm not saying the placement is utterly terrible, but it could use a few improvements. That is all.

Pros/Cons

Pros:

Thumbnail: Fantastic thumbnail. Looks really well-made and suits the title and theme of the game.

Gameplay: Overall, I loved the gameplay. It was fun, intense and addicting.

Action: Action was what made the entire game, and it was amazing.

Puzzles: For this game, puzzles would've just ruined the game, so no puzzles was perfect.

Cons:

Map Layout: Alright layout, but minor improvements wouldn't be too bad.

Artwork: Very small amounts of art appeared in this game. Sad Dudki is sad.

Placement: The placement was a bit bad at some points, which is not a good thing.

Ratings

Gameplay: 5/5

Difficulty: 4.5/5

Map Layout: 3/5

Artwork: 1/5

Action: 5/5

Puzzles: 0/5

Placement: 3/5

Creativity: 2.5/5

Overall: 3/5

So to sum it up, Rush Hour was an exciting game. Had it's flaws, but that didn't ruin the game for being a challenging and addicting fast-paced action shooter game. In my eyes, xploder achieved a good result with this game.

Feature-worthy?

Was Rush Hour feature-worhty? It was an interesting game. Definitely worth of a try. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to say no. This game did remind me a lot of some other featured shooter games in this style, and I didn't see too many things, that were unique to this game. But still, it was a good game. Good job xploder.
