Long ago, there were two goddess, Medusa, queen of darkness, and Palutena, queen of light. Palutena loved the people and gave them light, while Medusa turned them to stone. In outrage, Palutena cast Medusa into the underworld. There, Medusa forged an alliance with the creatures there and stormed Angel Land, trapping Palutena in the Temple of Light. With the last of her power, she gave a young angel named Pit a bow and arrows. Now, he must confront bosses, get three sacred treasures, and ultimately confront Medusa to free Palutena and restore peace to Angel Land...
