Pre-Thoughts

Believe it or not, theres quite a lot of undiscovered potential in the PPG creator. Okay, you dont believe me? Well, just take a quick few glances at the featured games page. They youll believe me. Anyway, no matter how long the creators been available, not everything is out there, and there are quite a few members out there who can and will discover them. One of them being npc10000. You probably know him from his 4 featured games hes made (I have 5, heheheh) unless you really couldnt be bothered playing them. Either that or you have read that large amount of reviews hes made after about 2 years of being a reviewer. Well, if you dont know him, hes quite a good PPG maker (and on occasions, he does make some sort of art games. Let out your screams of happiness and joy) and can easily come up with some decent concepts for games. Lets take Necrosis for example. By the looks of things, it seems like its going to be some sort of zombie game by looking at the title (look up Necrosis if you dare). Oh, hooray! Like weve never seen a zombie apocalypse game on sploder before! But thats pretty much the only clue we get about the game. Is there anything unexpected that we may see in the game? The thumbnail doesnt really show anything about the game, but maybe there are a few hidden challenge that await us behind that link.

Review

The concept is one of the things that I love the most about this game. Basically, you have to run around avoiding zombies and collecting keys during a zombie apocalypse. Im sure theres been something similar to this in a different game, but the idea that went along with that concept was simply brilliant. Never would I have thought that this kind of zombie apocalypse game would have been made. Anyway, there's a lot of potential that could have been developed on in the game, and Necrosis does a development on the concept after each level has passed, and it introduces many new challenges along the way, which leads the games difficulty to increase gradually, which I like about a game. Now, my problem with the gameplay is that it was quite difficult to avoid all the zombies following you, as there are a lot of them there. Having a lot of them all following you at the same time is a big problem. Why? Because they bump into each other, making them fly about, making it difficult for them to avoid. Another problem about that would be that in some cases, they are quite well camouflaged, and they catch you by surprise. That made Necrosis quite annoying, which didnt really help my judgements on the game.

I think its safe to say the scenery fit Necrosis very well. You should know what the average zombie apocalypse scene is by now: zombies wandering about everywhere; destroyed cars and houses; at least one thing burning. There was obviously a lot of detail put into the scenery, since it looks really nice, and pretty much everything is clear. Another thing that was quite detailed was the graphics, which made each level much better looking, and all of the graphics used fit the theme of each level perfectly. Overall, the game was pleasing to the eye in relation to the theme, and there were some nicely chosen graphics used.

The placements in this case were quite important, as if anything was misplaced, the game would look quite messy. Now, this didnt mean anything to SOME of the levels, but there were quite a few levels which needed perfect placements. But everything went according to plan, its definitely playable, and its fairly easy to move around. However, there are a couple of things that I can criticize about the placements. For example, there are quite a lot of zombies to try and avoid, and sometimes, they bump into each other. Now, normally, that wouldnt really be much of a problem, but in some cases, they fly across the map pretty far, which makes it harder to avoid considering the controls arent really loose (which by the way is a good thing in this case). Additionally, in level 4, you eventually have to move around some buildings to collect keys. Again, the large amount of zombies makes it difficult to move around the area, and maybe the keys could be placed in less enclosed areas because of this problem. But other than that, the placements were one of the most important aspects of Necrosis, and Id say npc had worked that one out very well.

Im not going to lie here: Necrosis is a very fun game which is quite addictive. I know npcs game making skills, and each level has something great to offer, and the concept I loved, so I had to keep going. Npc clearly did a great job with making this game, otherwise Id hate playing it, and Id never click on the link again. But what made this game so fun? Well, it had some great challenges. You may think that just avoiding zombies is boring, but thats not all this game has to offer. There are quite a few different, unique challenges to get through as well as that, and that makes this game fun.

Pros:

Scenery

Placements

Conclusion

And there we have it. Another zombie apocalypse game done great! Necrosis concept had a lot of potential, and npc developed on it very well. I would say this game is feature worthy, and Im quite surprised to why it hasnt been featured yet. I recommend you to play this game yourself. Witness the true greatness of this zombie game.
