Being Ultimate is a game created by radeonz9

Hey wassup readers and gamers, it's ethgamma, that guy from NZ with the weird-ass avatar. Yeah, that's me. Today I have decided to review a game by a user called radeonz9. I'd heard of this guy before, seen him on the forums but never had I played any of his games. Until today.

So as you probably will have guessed I am reviewing radeonz9's latest feature Being Ultimate. A PPG that utilizes the feature of the new texture pack, where you can use hundreds and thousands of designs to create rocky, sandy, awesome-y shapes. So without further ado, I present A REVIEW.

(And Being Ultimate of course)

Gameplay

For any platforming/action fans you're in luck, Being Ultimate is exactly that. Basically you play as a ultimate life form whose mission is to defeat the previous "ultimates" during the eight level PPG. What's cool about this game however is platforming is a lot crazier than any usual PPG, which is good and bad. Good: Being Ultimate give you the option of going anywhere you want in the level, it doesn't just shoot you in one direction, except for bosses. It sounds kinda weird, I know, but you don't really have to follow a specific path for some of the game, you can go anywhere you want, get whatever pearls you want to first. Bad: it can lead to confusion, especially on the volcano level, where I ended up rage-quiting xD If you like the crazy platforming style then Being Ultimate is the game for you.

Hazards

What's cool about this game is it follows a sequence of "Level, Boss, Level, Boss", which I admit I have seen before but still proves well for this game. It just proves how awesome this game is. According to the description, there are four bosses (with pretty cool names imo): Bretzy, Acephalous, Dark Wall Ray and The Ultimate Life Form itself. I'd suggest renaming the Dark Wall Ray something like Lavaray or Doomsting, but that's besides the point. Hazards can get pretty challenging at times, such as on the Cavern level with the multiple walls that give you penalties. I will say that it is a difficult game for the newer members but that (in a way) is kinda stereotypical. Eh, doesn't really matter. The hazards were still well placed in this game and you can't really diss it unless you're ultra-harsh.

Aesthetics

This is the paragraph of praise, people! Being Ultimate just takes the design to a whole new level, which I found pretty awesome. I am a guy that likes graphics and design in a game (as well as puzzle and action), and Being Ultimate brings just that. As I stated in the introduction way up at the top of the page, radeonz used the new textures feature, presented in here with the rocky backgrounds and foregrounds. However, this can prove to be a problem, seeing as on the volcanic level the ray graphics (animal, not laser -beam) were a bit difficult to see on the rocky background due to the similarity in colour. Still, this isn't really a major thing, and by looking at the introduction (and by watching the fourteen minute walkthrough) I can see the (SPOILERS) final boss looks pretty neat. The thing I liked is that the design kinda draws you in, adds a bit to the addictiveness factor, at least for me personally.

Puzzles

I can definitely say that as well as an action aspect Being Ultimate brought puzzles to the gamers. You were solving puzzles and unlocking doors to get all the pearls in each level, as well as figuring out how to beat the bosses, which admittedly were straight-forward. Radeonz9 used the abilities of the PPG to the fullest, but I can't really say this game was an all-out puzzle game more than it was an action/platofrming styled game. Nonetheless, I liked the puzzles that I was able to play through and the puzzles I saw in the walkthrough too.

Fun/Addictiveness

Being Ultimate was an addictive game, which is what is absolutely vital for any game on the site. Without this, you can't expect people to go play your game when there could be dozens more interesting ones to play instead. I can honestly say more of my games don't really present this, they're more difficult and for an (can I say) in depth audience, but this game isn't like this. This game attracts pretty much everybody from the moment you "Click to Play", thus what made me choose to write a review. It sounds kinda rude when I say this, but without the addictiveness factor (and probably aesthetics factor tbh) I probably wouldn't have reviewed this game at all. So...congratz, I guess?

Final Notes

So as I end this awesome rev - wait, you're excited that the review's over? Oh. Okay then. (cries)

In all seriousness radeonz did a great job with making Being Ultimate and I bet if he'd entered it into the Sploder Olympics like I did with TeleBall I would've been pwned. I'm glad it got a feature and I'd like to see more PPG's made by this dude. I'm also glad radeonz is actually an old returning user, always nice to see the old users come back to the site haha. Congratz on the review radeonz9 and thanks to you for reading.

I know the review sounds kinda rushed (at least it does to me hahah) but that basically sums it up. ADIOS PEEPS.
