Sprint is a game created by tjjoker

I had never heard of tjjoker before, so when I started playing this shooter, I was unsure what to expect. I'm not really a shooter guy - my specialty (and what I enjoy playing the most) are plats. I have long looked down on shooters for their limitations and how often it feels impossible for me to beat the well-made ones. My prejudices against this creator and a complete unfamiliarity with tjjoker led to low expectations. Playing this game of theirs has made me regret that.

Sprint is among the more enjoyable shooters I've played in a long while. It presents a challenge: collect several crystals found throughout an enemy-packed maze before the clock is up. This makes one not only calculate the order they should retrieve these crystals in, but also when to use the sparingly and intelligently placed powerups, not to mention the amount of time one must invest doing each task (hence the name). This isn't an easy game by any means, and it took me several tries to beat it, but the fact that I enjoyed myself with each attempt, not despite but rather because of its difficulty, speaks to the talent of the one who crafted this impressive game. Tjjoker splendidly balanced the need for a challenge with the reality that beating this game should not be a pipe dream; they understand well that a good, challenging game doesn't need to be absurdly difficult.

Sprint is not the best shooter I have ever played in my nine years on this website, however. There is no real story (although it isn't really needed for a shooter), no creative or innovative use of puzzles, and after beating it I feel underwhelmed. I suppose, after having as much fun as I did trying to win, I expected a greater feeling of accomplishment than what I got. Of course, there is always room for improvement, and I have confidence in tjjoker and their ability to achieve greater things.

Because of what this game contains (stellar enemy and hazard placement, wise and clever selection and placement of powerups, the time limit, and how they come together to create a challenging shooter), I believe that this game is feature worthy and expect a feature to come very soon. Tjjoker deserves to have their talent shown to the rest of the website, and I expect good things to come from them in the future.

So, to recap:

This game nails enemy placement, powerup placement, and the time limit, and it comes with a well-built maze to make things all the more challenging. This game is hard, but not impossible, and it makes you want to play it again and again until you get it right. The title is very appropriate, and the game succeeds in being a fun shooter for several audiences, not just the most talented among us.

Unfortunately, this game misses the mark when it comes to puzzles and storyline by lacking either. It leaves something to be wanted when you're done with it, although I'm embarrassed to admit that I can't quite put my finger on what that is. Despite the cons, the game deserves a feature and showcases some of the talent tjjoker has.

For these reasons, I recommend that the reader play Sprint and ask for it to get featured. I give it a 7/10.
