Starting to record in 3, 2, 1…

Hey everyone and welcome back to my third review of an Algorithm Crew game by Jackjoshseb. I can't promise this review will be good as my others because it's the first time I am reviewing an Algorithm game but I will try to do my best. I really enjoyed playing this game, so I thought you would enjoy reading a review of that game. xD I was curious because this is the first Algorithm Crew game of Jack. As always, I've played it and I've beaten it. So, ready to read?

Game: King Aegon

Maker: Jackjoshseb

Creator: Algorithm Crew (3D)

Release Date: Sunday September 1st, 2013

Introduction:

So, let me first introduce you with Jackjoshseb, a well-known member of Sploder and famous about his challenging Platform featured games. He is an Editor so he knows what is feature-worthy in a game. This is the 6th review of this game and I think it's the first game that got so many reviews, not sure though. Anyway, Jack posted this game on ASG and I decided to review it, even though I supposed to review it before he posted it. :D

Gameplay:

All the Algorithm games does not involve too much actions like PPGs and Platforms do but Jackjoshseb tried to bring action in this game putting everything to make the game look good. The game keeps you in worry about dying and doing something wrong in your way. The final level is the most entertaining level for me, but you can easily escape from the place King Aegon created by himself and avoid his corrupted Soldiers if I can call them like that.

Protagonists and Antagonists:

You're the King Aegon, the leader of the Tiaziam Empire who got diagnosed with a disease never seen before has to fight against his Soldiers, Knights and Lords. So basically, there is no good guy... I'm joking, you're the good guy, but you are in time to save yourself being not like the enemies of this game. Jackjoshseb used most of the enemies in the game so this made King Aegon look cool.

Power-ups:

Well, power-ups are "supporting" the puzzles in this game. The health pack is used to keep your health while you shoot with the laser gun or whatever it is called. This two power-ups helps you to get more in the game and advance in the next levels. The invisibility is another power-up which you have to get it killing enemies and having a good accuracy and also luck.

Level Design/Scenery:

There is a special use of the placement of this game that JJS used every level. We already know that Algorithm Crew is very limited but JJS made it look even bigger and better by using different things each level you go. This give you a sense of progression and going into other places. To sum up, he did a great job.

Puzzles:

The hardest thing to do making an Algorithm Crew game is to make new puzzles for your game to get good feedback. Well, JJS found 5 new puzzles, one of them I've mentioned above. I think he studied and played a lot of games to make a new good puzzle and don't use simple glitch puzzles that other use a lot. It is a great fact that this is his first Algorithm game though.

And finally, our rating for this game:

Gameplay: 4.5/5 I played it more than 5 times just to replay the amazing story and to see the gameplay.

Power-ups: 5/5 Well placement and nice choices.

Level Design/Scenery: 4/5 Some levels were simple in my opinion.

Puzzles: 4.5/5 I really liked them, but some of the levels felt empty without puzzles.

Addictiveness and Creativity: 4.5/5 Yeah.

FINAL RATING: 4.5/5. Excellent JJS.

G1’s Final Thoughts:

I really enjoyed playing this game and exploring the levels. I found this game feature-worthy because it had amazing puzzles and a good story and placement. That's what I found special in this game. The game also got a message at the end: "You can't see straight, you can't make sense of what's happening, but you have a desire to live. And that's all a King needs." I liked this. The rating on ASG thread will be 9/10. Congratulations! ^_^
