The Truth 2 is a game created by master106

Hello, it's me again. I'm not a massive fan of writing reviews, however, I'm trying to complete a few tasks I've given myself, and writing more reviews is one of them. I saw this game on the EGD list, and also saw it had not been reviewed. Master has always been a relatively good game maker, and I've enjoyed a few of his creations in the past. So, seeing his name on the list, I thought I may as well give his game a go.

Introduction

The Truth 2, is without a shadow of a doubt, an incredibly hard game, which is probably why it hasn't yet been reviewed. I've never wanted to review a game without beating it, but I've had to make an exception here, as I was honestly unable to get past this 7 levelled hurdle. I found many aspects of the game near to impossible to complete, which I will touch on later in the review. There were a few mechanical issues inside the game, but nothing too major that heavily restricts the gameplay.

Story

There isn't a massive backstory to this game, but I'd like to touch on it anyway, as most of the EGD game reviews do. From what I can gather, there was an event called 'The Truth', in which the 'Whole Truth' has been scattered around the worlds. Your job is to collect all of the Mini-Truths as it were and piece the whole truth back together. master106 also hints at the difficulty of the game, as he says that ~many have attempted to do what you are tasked with, but none have succeeded.~ - In my opinion, hinting the levels up ahead are challenging is a large understatement.

Gameplay

Platform games have always been my favourite. I guess that's just because when I joined there were only 2 types (Shooter and Platform), and Mogura's made me rage. Anyway, back on topic. The majority of the levels are incredibly spaced out, yet still confined in a way. For example, on the first level, we must venture throughout this large building, and even underground to collect the 'Truth Crystals'. Although we only remain in the vicinity of a large building, master has made a good portion of the level underground, making is easier for us to collect the 'Truth Crystals'. However, walking around in circles for about 10 minutes did become boring, as there is no easy way to navigate around the building, as it's all a little-jumbled underground. Some would all this is just puzzling, but I call it annoying.

One issue I found with the game was the wall jumping mechanics. It seemed a bit tacky, and just generally infuriated me, as it did have glitchy patches that delayed gameplay and reduced the fun. Most of the parkour throughout the game was fine, however, I found the ice one on level 2 next to impossible, and took far longer to complete than it should. Master should've simplified it in some way, to make it easier for those not so familiar with parkours. The main issue I found with this game is that it has too many annoying little things, like some I have listed. There is no real elephant in the room when it comes to making the gameplay worse for wear, but with all of these little things added up, it really does make you clench your fists playing it. I would really like to say more, but due to the difficulty of the game, I have not really been able to have a proper playthrough and give the game a proper evaluation. Therefore, I will be concluding the gameplay section, and moving straight on to the scores

Conclusion

I do apologise to the people who came here looking for a wonderful in-depth analysis of the game, but due to the sheer difficulty of the review, I am going to have to disappoint you. I liked playing the game, and I can see that master106 has spent a good amount of time working on it, but due to some mechanical drawbacks that have let it down, the game for me personally is just a glitchy frustration zone of annoyance. That being said, it is definitely worth a play :)
