Crunchy is a game created by chumpion

Good morning, afternoon, night, evening, mid-day or mid-night, or any other thing I’ve missed out. Eh, yeah, I’m writing a review… How entertaining… Eh, yeah. –Stares at script- Oh, hello ladies and gentlemen, this is mat7772 bringing you an epically epic review (And this epically epic review is my eleventh review, too). Today I am reviewing Crunchy by chumpion. Mmm… Now let’s bite into the pre-thoughts.

Pre-thought:

Oops, I bit the s off of Pre-thoughts, my bad. Anyway, I’ve seen what chumpion can do, as I’ve played many of his games on his hacked account, “Jaggertoo”. Were those games good though? Eh, not really. So expectations are low, with just my expectations of him including a bit of traps and action.

Thumbnail:

Omaigawsh it’s blue! :O I didn’t expect a game called Crunchy to be blue, infact, I imagined it to be brown, because chocolate is brown…. Eh? (Y ur mind no cweative?) Alright, it looks like when the game will start my life will be limited by quite a fair bit, which could be used in some puzzleds. :O A puzzle game, how unpredictable. It also looks like there is going to be a high amount of rich, soothing action. My expectations have rose, congratulations chumpion, have a cookie (::).

eview:

Now, where’s the “r” in review you ask? Right now, it’s in my stomach, flopping around with all that food waste, delicious. Anyway, Crunchy was a puzzle game, which was an unpredictable move. But was it a good puzzle game, or did it simply crunch under my feet easily like my crunchy bar? Well the answer to that was it was in the middle. So yeah, it crunched half of the bar and the other was uncrunched, te he. Action was good as well as the puzzles and so was the bit of traps. So that was basically a short summary. Now let’s move on for more crunch in this review.

Puzzles, something that this game had. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, I actually found puzzles! –GASP- There was a lot of puzzles in this game, but most of them were recycled from the local dumpster. That’s right, not very original. It was like biting into a new chocolate bar that tasted like a picnic bar, and I don’t even like those ones, bleh. Oops, getting side-tracked for my love (or hate) of chocolate bars. Anyway, the first puzzle I saw was original. It involved you to shoot missiles at an obstacle so you could get propelled back. Traps? I saw a few, but not many. If you were zooming down the isle of pushers, sometimes you’d be having too much fun going 100 km and not concentrating on which path to take. The others I saw were just traps loured in by having attractive looking power-ups over a switch. How creative.

Enemy placement was above average. (And for further info it didn’t have a nice crunch to it, and the way when I stepped on it, I only heard a crack, not a crunch… Oops, that was my computer) It was like this mainly because of the size of the playfield. You’d be travelling in a narrow path and all of a sudden a disruptor blocks your way. :O And of course you were forced to fight it in a short distance in a narrow path, which would often become quite annoying. That would also happen with several other enemies, several times. So now chumpion knows what to do now, NO PLACING ANNOYING DISRUPTORS IN MY SMALL, NARROW PATH, IT CAUSES ME TO CRUNCH MY COMPUTER, AND WE NO WANT THAT, BECAUSE THEN I WONT BE WRITING ANY MORE REVIEWS FOR YOU.

Health and power-ups were placed right when I needed them, when my health bar was almost empty (Omaigawsh I can’t bewieve iz needed to expwain thart, it sooooooooo obvious!!!!!). Same with power-ups, even though there weren’t quite many. Whether they were placed in traps, puzzles, or just there to help you regain some strength, they were placed well. Mmm… Full of crunch and flavour…

Yay, there was lovely scenery! :O I was looking at some wonderfull art all around the game when I was passing by. Infact, I died because of the scenery. It stared at me and said; “will you marry me?”, and then there was slobber all over the screen! :D Okay, nuff said. The scenery was nice and made the game for… Smexy…. Ah….

Creative? A little, but not lots. The scenery was creative, even though it was a little thing. But you know what they say, small things make a big crunch- err, I mean difference! –Thinks of another creative thing- Err, the first puzzle was creative, and I guess the design was… And then everything else was fairly average. End of review paragraphs, yay.

Pros:

Health and power ups: These were placed when my health bar was low, or when I needed extra strength. Never once was I overflowed with health or had so much to spare.

Scenery: “Yes, oh lovely scenery, I take you to be my beloved wife-“ Eh, don’t look at that. Anyway, the scenery was a nice feature about the game and really brightened my mood up.

Puzzles and traps: There were puzzles and traps, lots of them actually. Some were creative while others weren’t, and the thing was I didn’t smash my computer screen because of it. YUS!!!

Action: The action was nice, but sometimes it could’ve been better by not placing neutral enemies in confined spaces.

Cons:

Creativity: The game, all in all, wasn’t very creative, infact, I bet I could find all that stuff in my garbage bin… BE RIGHT BACK!!!

Enemy placement: I’m back, and it appears I couldn’t find all of the Crunchy’s features in my garbage bin, darn. The enemy variety was fine, but the STUPID enemies placed in SMALL spaces were VERY ANNOYING!!! –Loses voice-

atings:

(Oops, I mean “Ratings:”, te he.)

Action: 4/5. The action could’ve been better if enemies weren’t in confined areas.

Difficulty: 4.5/5. I didn’t quite beat Crunchy, but I got very close to beating it several times.

Puzzles and traps: 3.25/5. Some of the puzzles were recycled, others weren’t quite recycled and were original and clever. Same with the traps.

Placement: 3/5. A mixture of good and bad placement, an example of a bad placement would be the enemies and an example of good placement is the power-ups, you know, the ones that “power you up?” Trolol

Creativity: 2.5/5. As I said before, I found many recycled puzzles, and other… stuff….

Overall: 3.5/5.

Conclusion:

Overall, I give Crunchy a 3.5/5. There was lots of crunches to Crunchy, but it was also a good game to play with the puzzles, traps ex. I’d definitely recommend playing this, it’s an example of a good game, but with a few tweaks it could be better

Feature worthy? No. There were many little mistakes that I’m sure chumpion will learn from, and overall it wasn’t creative for me to feature it.
