Humanity is a game created by meowmeowfurrycat

Greetings. My name is Mat7772 and I am reviewing Humanity by meowmeowfurrycat and bla bla bla *insert me waffling on here*. Right, let's get on with bashing this game!

Pre-thoughts:

Here is the category where I discuss about the creator. He is the one that never woofs. He is the one that chases his tail round and round. He is the fluffy one. He is the Woofwooffluffydog. Before going into the game I had average thoughts - this author does not make exceptional games, nor poor, bleeppy games and definitely not cliche. I'm expecting a 3/5 game that is just "pleasant".

Review:

Want to know the main genre of the game? Platforming. Jump from one block to another and cross your fingers that you don't fall to the bottom and have to start again. Myself - being an A platform player, managed to complete this, but not without the several temper tantrums and breakdowns because I missed that 1x1 block, or overshot an ice block. If you want to make a platforming game, it should be catered towards the less experience members as well. With this, it was insanely difficult and I had to wear my fingers to the bone to even get to level 3.

Continuing on from the last paragraph, the difficulty is absolutely ridiculous. There is no room for a little bit of over or under jumping, it has to be 100% perfect or otherwise you will be punished by broken toe nails when you land on the bottom. I don't even want to play this again because the game is so bloody hard.

From the no room for error, it becomes very frustrating and tedious. If you love plummeting 100 metres and landing on the ground with a solid "thud" and along with many broken toenails, I could not find a better game for you. For others, steer clear.

On a positive note, the scenery gave the game an interesting vibe. You could tell when you were in a junkyard and a rainforest, and it helped the storyline in a way.

When there wasn't tedious platforming, there was unique sequences that involved using your brain to overcome it. Level 2 had a unique design with perm blocks and a hidden teleporter, which I enjoyed trying to solve. The only problem with these was that there wasn't enough. The few that were included were very unique and well hidden, yet were possible to pass with a bit of patience and observation.

The storyline was my second favourite in EGD. It reminded me of Portal, yet in a more sinister way. I could almost here the voice in my head, echoing the words as I jumped from one platform to another. This also has one of the best plot twists at the end... which almost nobody will see. It's a shame, because this storyline is well constructed.

The score of Humanity...

3/5

I definitely overrated this in EGD judging. The gameplay was tedious, but the few innovative designs and the fantastic storyline bumped this game up to a 3/5. For now, meow, platforming games from you can be made a little easier... eh? :D?
