Rebound is a game created by gooey

Gooey. If you asked me if I knew who this member was two weeks ago, I would of had no idea. However with this game for EGD its left quite an impression.

Rebounds story is nothing special at all. You play as a red circle who somehow manages to roll and be alive and stuff. The red circle must find the blue circle, who, surprise surprise, also is magically alive, but you have to get back to his FAMILY! The story really didnt do much for my expectations at all. I was reluctant to move forward, but I did.

Im glad I moved on, because what I found was a REALLY enjoyable game. Dont get me wrong, this game was not groundbreaking, but it was just so much fun. Each level places you in a vibrant and well decorated level and requires you to just reach the end. Its a platforming game, in other words. However, Gooey adds one unique mechanism of being able to roll up walls. Its nothing amazing, but it feels like a burst of freshness and shows me that Gooey has the potential of pulling off a wonderful concept. This was well used in level 4 and level 5 where you had to roll up a wall and inside a tree respectfully. All levels felt like a crafty adventure of some sort. The player would adventure through a house, playground and even a sewer where you find your blue friend, who God knows why decided adventuring through the rat riddled dungeon place was a great idea (red ball obviously scared them all away, thats why there was none there). Overall I love the simple yet charming gameplay.

The games second strongest point is its vibrant, yet simplistic scenery (some of which you could interact with), which complimented the game excellently. The houses had a fair amount of attention to detail, you could knock over a pencil jar just to feel rebellious if you really wanted to, or just move the crates like youre supposed to. The outside areas you could adventure through the sandpit and push the water cup over and watch the water topple out. The interactivity involved really made the levels feel so much better, and Im glad Gooey took the time to implement this in his (or her, not sure) game.

The games only downfall is there wasnt anything that cabambwowzad me, where was the wow factor? It was a good, fun game but something wasnt there. Knocking over objects was memorable, but that alone doesnt feel enough.

Overall, Rebound is a great game that doesnt revolutionise anything, but Id recommend this to everyone as it will provide around ten or so minutes of fun.

3.5/5.

Remember to knock over that glass of water OR YOU DIDNT EXPERIENCE THAT AMAZING FEELING OF SATISFACTION. Yes, it was actually that good.
