Metroid Armageddon BETA is a game created by omega

Introduction:

Welcome to my first review. Today, I will be reviewing “Metroid Armageddon BETA” by Omega. After I start reviewing the game, Omega doesn’t put any description to the game. So I don’t know why Omega named it that. Especially, putting “BETA” at the end of the title. I did really wish he added a description because the game was really long and good. And I wanted a pictured in my head to see what Omega added to it. In fact, it had five levels to it. But, I will only be reviewing three of the levels because I didn't beat the whole game. Now, let’s take a look at Omega’s project!

Level 1:

In the beginning, you start off at a checkpoint. You walk toward the door and you receive a weapon. After you head farther, you step on a door, which is locked. After that, you go farther and receive the key for it and an extra life. I didn’t really like the fact when you see a door locked and then you see the key an inch away from you. What I think is best if Omega added a tiny trap or an enemy next to it. Ok, now you head down and walk on a path of blocks. And you say to yourself “which way should I go?”. The answer to this question is easy because if you go right then the door is locked. So your only choice is left. What I also discovered is if you head right, and if you have luck enough to go up, passing the locked door, you just passed the locked door, which gives you least work. But wait, the mission to this level is to destroy all the enemies, so the level door won’t open. So do not try that because believe me, I tried it before and I had to go back. What I didn’t get was that Omega added blocks and somehow he made a decoration out of them. For example, he put a block, left a space, and then put another block and so on. This made it easier to escape out of the blue locked door. I think he did this in purposed because I think he wanted the player who was playing his game to get tricked and had to go back. Well if he did, his plan worked because he did fooled me! Now, when you head right, Omega added a big block and added another but this time flat. He made it difficult to go up, and you get bored, so you keep on going right and face an enemy. You pop up your gun and you destroy him. But remember, make sure you have at least three or more bullets left because you could need it in case. Ok, now you keep going right and you see a dirt block, and you hit it with your knife. You head farther and see a power, it gives you double jumps. Just what you needed, you head back and you try going up trying not to fall off. You make it and you keep walking down a path of big fat blocks. After you notice, you see a lava pool. You make it and you face another enemy. But wait you still have your three bullets left, so you use them but at the same time pushing the enemy away from you. By good luck, the enemy falls into the lava pool. So then you see another lava pool and you make it. You see another enemy you kill it and then you see a lava pool again but this time there are doors, one real and fake doors. So you want to be careful on this part because you might fall off, you also might want to go really fast. After you make it, you enter in some kind of a tunnel and recieve the blue key for the locked door. Then you had to go back to the locked door. What I also didn't like was that you had to do this. This is what made the game really hard, especially the lava pools. If you happen to make it to this part and actually pass this part which I did, you take a long ride on a elevator and arrive to the next level door.

level 2:

Ok, when you arrive at this level, you look at the mission and what you see is no mission. So you could go to the other level. But then I see a owl and it tells me to go ahead and get your grapple. So I think you are supposed to get the grapple and I think you are supposed to use it for the next level. So,if you were to lazy to play this level it was optional. So you could chose to get the grapple or not get the grapple and go to the next level. What I chose was to get the grapple. I chose this because I might need it in case for something. So I began my journey. I came across a puzzle. He put fake doors and also added doors that if you press a button it will close. But, he also added others ways, so if you get traped he would put another way for you to get out. Also he gave extra lives. He added hot blocks and energybeams. He made something for example, you were supposed keep going up hopping on hot blocks, and if you fall, you will fall on other hot blocks and had to start all over. I lost half of my life doing this and it took me a while to make it. After I made it, I saw the grapple from far away, after I approched it, I got killed by an enemy but I had my extra life and I revieved and had to start all over to the second level. I saw how risky it was to start the second level all over again so I just went ahead to the third level.

Level 3:

Ok, when I see the mission this time it was to kill all the enemies. As I could see, Omega changed color of blocks and it adds up his decoration score. I think this level was the hardest. It gives many enemies. I was fighting with my sword trying to destroy these enemies. After I went through this hole, there was a trap door down, there was an enemy and it fell through this hole too. But this enemy got caught and it got saved. I got traped and I couldn't kill the enemy. I died but I had my other life again and I tried again. But then I decided to quit and go on ahead because that was my only life I had. I got killed and I lost the game.

Now, I will tell you about the enemy placement and life placement! Omega added the enemy placement good. All the enemies where not all up against each other, I will give him a fair score, I think he should get half score. The life placement was kind of both, bad and good. He added lives when you needed them. I noticed that he didn't rush through his game putting lives all over. He took his time doing this. I will give him a 4/10.

Now, lets view the puzzles or traps and decoration! Omega added trap doors and various of stuff that made this game really tricky! For example, once he tried to trick me by added a door that automatically closes if you step on a button. I will give him a 3/10 because he didn't put many puzzles as I thought.I hope he does next time! Omega changes the decoration blocks for almost every level I played. This shows that he knows what blocks he is useing and knows when to change it. I will give him a 6/10.

My favorite part of the game was when I had to jump over the lava pools. It made me anxious, to see if I won't make it or not. He gave me powers, so I could double jump. My least favorite part was on the first level. When I had to go back when you get the blue key. It wasted my time doing this. I wish next time he will add a teleporter! I loved this game a lot. It had cons and a lot of pros. This game wasn't that bad and it gave me ideas on my future game I'm working on.

Scores:

Decorations: 6/10

Traps: 3/10

Enemy Placement: 5/10

Life Placement: 4/10

Overall: 2.5/5

Feature Worthy:

I don't think this game should be featured because it's a little bit easy. It wasn't that bad but it needs to be longer and challenging. And I hope Omega learns his cons after reading this!
