The Legend of Zelda is a game created by matthade2

Hey everybody, I'm back with an EGD Review.

EGD, or Epic Game Drop, is a competition where users submit the best game that they can possibly make. This game, The Legend of Zelda, earned no merits however it did swipe a feature. Fortunately for this game, it doesn't give it up after you tell it not to swipe.

Matthade2 is not really known for his game making, I have never tried any of his other games. This is a ppg game, I like those because of how creative you can get with them, so naturally my standards were set high upon starting this game. Lets get into the real review, shall we?

Well, I have some mixed feelings about this game, not that anyone cares for my emotional state or anything. This game has some good elements to it. I like the feel of this game. Did it make me feel like I was playing a real Zelda game? Not even close, but that doesn't rule it out as trash. The game felt different from all of the other Ppgs entered in le contest. Let me start by saying the graphics were pretty cool. I don't think Mat made any of them, but his choices were still pretty good. Graphics really make the game look nicer under certain circumstances.

Ok, enough with some positive stuff, allow me to start on the cons now. The game was wayyyyy to easy, all but the final level was a breeze. The bosses were pathetic to say the least. You could get to the last level in 5 minutes. I will admit I never beat the last level due to how cheap some of the design is, but the rest of the game is to obvious and I feel like I know where I am going without thinking. I want a bit of creative challenge, not an easy peasy boss. Going into the boss battles, they were easy as well. I wouldn't really call the last level a boss because you simply had to touch Ganon with your sword to win. Ocarina of Time would be disappointed in his Water Temple. I can understand that the Ppg is limited in size and ideas, but that doesn't mean that you can't think of some true Zelda puzzles. The enemies (All but the ones in the final level) were a joke, however the shield idea was creative, and if executed properly may have been a good one, but unfortunately it lacked in that aspect.

Back up on the positive side, this game was pretty addictive. I didn't want to give up after the first boss, I wanted to see what awaited me. While it was easy, I still had a good time going through the differently decorated areas and fighting somewhat unique bosses. Matthade2 knows how to dress up a game well. His decor and tile choice was pretty decent, and the gameplay was average as well.

Now let me make you feel bad again with a con. His game design was rather sloppy. While the game offered some modest gameplay, the placement just seemed a little random, and his enemies were placed literally everywhere. It just seemed cluttered and poor. The game had potential to be better but it just didn't cut it. It barely earned its feature to be honest.

Ending on a happy note, Mat did introduce some new ideas such as the enemy shields, or spawner walls, to really make his seem different from other games. While this one doesn't have the highest quality it still has some unique touches that pushes it right over the feature mark.

Overall, this game did not meet the LoZ standards, but it still a mildly enjoyable quick and easy play for someone who needs to occupy 5-10 minutes.

This has been a Moolala Re -Wait, that sounds stupid, err, next up on my queue will be Riding the Snake 2.
