The Dark Tower is a game created by npc10000

Introduction:

Hello there once again. Today I'll be reviewing The Dark Tower by npc10000. The Dark Tower...sounds like a dark game. (duhh) The game gives me the impression that it'll be a difficult game. Hope not. I'm not too good with difficult games. Judging the game by its thumbnail, it doesn't look like much. It doesn't look like it'll stand out compared to other games, it doesn't look like anything too special to me. I hope I'm wrong on that though.

Review:

The Dark Tower is a kind of fast-paced game. Kind of because you'll have to be quick on some parts of the game, but on some other parts, you can take your time finding out what to do. But most of the time, you have to be quick, or else. At the start of the game, you'd be all like, 'Come at me bro.' but when you get higher and higher up the 'tower', you start to regret the fact that you were too impatient to wait for the elevator to go upward. But when you're almost at the top, you'd be like, 'What do I do now?' It's really, really easy to get lost in the game. You can fall, you can climb, a lot could happen while playing through this game.

Difficult? Yes and no. It's difficult, but not as difficult as to what I had expected earlier before even playing the game. Which for me, is a very good thing. I started to think, 'Yay, a game that I can finish! I think...' Luckily, I was able to finish The Dark Tower, but I forgot to log in. T.T Too bad. Oh well, I can always try again someday soon. Hopefully... When I have time, I guess. Anyway, I think that the game is addicting. It's really fun falling into lava, being attacked by bats and the like. The Dark Tower is one of those games that is simply fun. It may not be the best game I've seen so far, but it's still fun. I have died numerous times before I was even able to achieve victory in this game, but it was well worth the play.

Placements... To be completely honest, the placements were very messy in my opinion. The map just really felt cluttered. From what I can see, it looks like most, if not all the enemies and hazards were just randomly placed around the map, scattered around there. I did not like that. The game was too tedious for me to enjoy most of the game. For me, almost everything was in disarray. The amount of enemies and hazards was okay in my opinion, but they look like they were scattered around randomly. As for the health placements, I think there was a tad bit too much health. The game became pretty easy because of that. There are a lot of things in this game that still need some more improvement and revision, to be honest. I'm not really impressed with what I'm seeing as of now. Hopefully, my not-so-good impression of this game would change later on.

The game design...My opinion earlier is quite similar to what I'm going to say now. To put it in simple words, the game design isn't good. It felt very... cluttered. I honestly think that the greatest downfall of this game is how messy it is. I couldn't really enjoy myself while playing because of it. Some of the places had back walls, some didn't. I honestly think that the game design was rather sloppy and effortless. Npc seemed to focus more on the hazards and enemies he could add into his game. Well, at least the place did match the theme of the game. It was pretty dark, and it really gave me the impression that what I was playing in is a tower. A really tall tower. To sum it all up, design, as well as the placements in this game, need a lot of improvement.

Pros:

-Addicting

-Difficulty is just right

Cons:

-Sloppy design

-Cluttered placements

-The whole game feels rather messy

Ratings:

Creativity: _/_____

I didn't want to give a score as low as this, but I honestly didn't see anything new in this game. And as I had stated earlier, the design for me is really sloppy.

Placements: __/_____

To be honest, placements were bad. Could use some more improvement.

Originality: _/_____

I didn't see anything too new in this game.

Addictiveness: ____/_____

I can say this game's pretty addictive, but I couldn't give it a perfect score because I couldn't fully enjoy the game because it really felt tedious.

Difficulty: ____/_____

The difficulty of The Dark Tower is alright. Not too shabby.

Overall: __.4/_____

Conclusion:

Sorry. I wasn't too impressed with The Dark Tower, but the game has potential. It just needs some more improvements here and there, and maybe some puzzles. Feature worthy? Nope. Not at all. It's pretty far away from getting a feature, in my own honest opinion. Npc, I do believe you have the potential to make a very good game. Just keep trying and practicing, you'll improve overtime. But, this game was made in 2012, correct? So, I guess that means you have improved, more or less. I guess I'll find that out by trying out your newer games. So, thank you for reading my review. Mash, out.
