Introduction:

Hello there netizens of sploder. I'm here once again with another review. Today, I'll be reviewing Rush Hour by xploder584. I guess I'll call him Ody throughout the review, since I'm more used to seeing him on the forums than on the mainsite. Anyway, when I first saw the game's thumbnail, all I could do was laugh. Lol. Not to insult Ody, but the thumbnail art looks very... weird. Numbers on the clock aren't the same size and all those other things. But, I know how difficult that was to make, so 5 for the effort, I guess. xD Just from reading the title, I already knew that there would be some sort of time limit. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish this game. (Hopefully. xD)

Review:

Sooo, I guess I was right about what I said in the introduction. Rush Hour is a fast-paced, action-packed game wherein you have to get to the end before the clock runs out of time. I think the original time given to complete the tasks given was 9 minutes, but I think Ody changed it to 10 when I checked it out today. Yay, that gives me a higher chance to beat or get pretty far in this game. I felt a bit happy and relieved, discovering that there wasn't any puzzles in this game. That gives me an eve bigger chance at finishing the game, yay. But looking at the top scores board, I guess I won't be able to complete this game after all since no one else has finished Ody's game either.

I think Rush Hour is a really difficult game. I think that the difficulty rating shown before you start the game is pretty accurate. The difficulty ratings are usually really off and inaccurate for most games, but the rating for this one is pretty accurate. It's just THAT difficult. Once you start the game, your life decreases quite a lot pretty quickly because of all the nitros that explode and because of all the turrets shooting at you. But to be honest, I didn't find the game all that addicting. It was in the middle of addicting and not-so-addicting, there were times that you'd want to play over and over, but there were also times where I just don't want to play the game anymore. I guess I was a bit discouraged to play the game because of how difficult it is.

The placements of the game are good. So-so, in my opinion. Yeah, I think that's the word that perfectly describes the placements of Rush Hour. In the beginning of the game, the placements were pretty impressive. The enemies and the nitro were placed in good areas. But some parts of the game wasn't as good as the other parts. I guess the making of Rush Hour was a bit rushed. Consistency is also an important factor when making a game. I think that the ending of a game should be its best part. Well, that's what I'd like to see in most games, it would make the player go 'WOW.'

If I judge the design from the thumbnail, I would have given this part quite a low rating. But, I shouldn't judge a game from it's thumbnail. The design was pretty impressive in my opinion, but like the placements, its quality reduces little by little. I honestly don't like rushed games. I'd like it better if game creators took quite some time to make it perfect rather than rushing to publish the game. I used to rush my games a lot, and just like this game, the quality of it is crushed into tiny smitherens. Well, not really crushed, just reduced. Or maybe Ody just ran out of ideas for his game. Whatever the reason may be, Rush Hour still needs more improvements here and there. This game made me feel a bit disappointed, when I first started the game, I could already see so much potential. Oh well.

Pros:

-Action-packed gameplay

-Fast-paced gameplay

Cons:

-Too Difficult

-Not so addictive

Ratings:

Creativity: ___/_____

I could see effort on the design. But, it was off at some parts.

Placements: ___/_____

Placements were so-so.

Originality: __/_____

I've seen this concept a lot of times already.

Addictiveness: ___/_____

Meh. Not too fun, to be honest.

Difficulty: __.5/_____

Sometimes, the difficulty of the game discourages me to continue playing.

Overall: __.7/_____

Conclusion:

The gameplay of Rush Hour is its strongest point since you don't really see too much games with this type of gameplay. I also enjoyed the game a bit more becasue I could cluelessly run into the battlefield, ready to die, unlike most games which require you to think. Overall this game has some flaws, but there are also a lot of good things about this game, in my opinion. If you were to ask me if this game is feature worthy, I'd say no. Rush Hour still needs more improvements and revision before I can say that it's feature worthy. But, this game isn't bad. It's average, in my opinion. If I were you, I'd still would want to play it. With a bit more effort and determination, I'm pretty sure Ody will be able to make an amazing game someday. Thanks for reading my review. Mash, out.
