Soldier of Satan is a game created by omega

I will be reviewing Soldier of Satan by omega. I loved omega’s 10.000 Days and when I heard that there was going to be a couple sequels, I immediately thought that I would like them enough to review them. After playing and reviewing 10.000 Days, omega told me that he would shortly be creating Soldier of Satan. I said that I would review it so here it is.

Soldier of Satan starts just about the same as 10.000 Days starts; inside of a long hallway. This time though, you are way above the ground. I guess that only would make sense because you are trying to fight the angels this time, and not the thors. I started walking to the right, I saw a couple owls on my path. They all said things like “Be ruthless or be nothing!” I then came to an owl that said to go to the armory. I looked at my mini map to determine whether the armory is to the left or to my right. I saw some red dots (enemies) on my mini map to the right so I figured that that probably wasn’t the way to the armory. I went to my left into a teleporter and I found myself back where 10.000 Days takes place. I really like the background change from just white in heaven to red here. You receive a torch that enables you to see all of the power ups that you can get down here such as a shield, armor and a small gun. I went back up into heaven and went to my alternative route; right. I now notice how great omega made heaven look. Later I came to some laser beams and I wondered why they weren’t flashing on and off. Then I realized that they blend into the background. I soon came to a flamethrower and used it to melt some melt blocks. After that, I started seeing more enemies to defeat such as ninja boys and whatever the yellow spherical objects are called. I really liked the small bouncer and crusher puzzle. A while further into the game, I came to an elevator that takes quite a long time to get to the top of the map. But this is blocked by some weak floor tiles so it’s not like it is going anywhere without you. I ended up facing death when I got the check point and had to battle both the turret and a minion. Varmistuskood beat this game in 2 minutes and 38 seconds along with a few others.

Soldier of Satan has the same basic scenery layout as 10.000 Days does. This game uses the basic floor tile design and the basic ramp styles. I don’t have much to add for the scenery but I feel that this game is an exception to the “always add scenery” rule. It doesn’t actually need it. Maybe this is because of how incredible the game play is. This game is an exception to the scenery rule only because of its game play but if omega would add more scenery tiles, it would be fantastic. I don’t want any scenery tiles to cover up the white background though. Maybe he could just change the basic floor tile design to a different style.

Just like 10.000 Days, Soldier of Satan is an incredibly epic game. Lacking in the scenery, this game has to have very good game play to make up for it. Soldier of Satan is epic merely because of its game play. When I say game play, I mean defeating enemies, beating traps and other fun things along the way. I really like the variety of enemies used in this game such as a ninja boy and a minion.

Description Given:

“Sequel to 10.000 Days; Soldier of Satan puts you in the role of a soldier in Satan's army! Fight against the angels to conquer heaven, and prove who is the true rulers of the world...”

Suggestions:

1. Add alternative paths.

2. Possibly adjust the floor tile design.

My Final Burn:

As promised, Soldier of Satan came out stronger than 10.000 days in game play. I am very glad that I reviewed this game in the end. Hopefully more people will play this game and realize omega’s true game creation skills.

This has been a BHR.
