A review of Online by Paradon

Opening Remarks:

I may be a bit rusty when it comes to writing a review, so my apologies if it comes off as a bit odd. Paradon is a well-known game creator here on sploder, who tends to up the ante with every game he makes. This time he brings a unique idea to the platform game maker, something that helps me reminisce about the ppg creator but still has its own feel. Here, lets upload the next part of this review shall we?

Review:

Online is a very unique game, utilizing the graphics enabled in the past year or so to help simulate a technological world inside the Platform game creator. The story begins with our hero? No, instead we represent a program or something that follows along the wires of a circuit board on a computer, anywho, it begins as a rebooting or start up system and slowly introduces you to a voice that tells you the tasks at hand and all the obstacles throughout the game.

There may not be any real enemies throughout the game, but there are puzzles abound! Each level has its own unique touch to add to the game. Some areas hurt you, others trap you, and some are there just to confuse you! The idea of unlocking areas isnt new, but how it was implanted was. I liked the idea of having the entire foreground covered with graphics, so you cannot see the standard Character in the Platformer, helps put you more in the game I think. The mazes are amazingly well done and confusing, some of which can only be solved via trial and error or sheer luck. All of this done with a sort of portal like charm, with there being an internal battle of computer and another voice.

The graphics are not the prettiest Ive seen, but they work well with the game that it was made for. There are times that the graphics do seem to hinder things, such as the mazes, which can make things seem more overwhelming at times, but I think that was the intention. The only real issue with graphics isnt even an issue, nor something you can fix with such an idea, but the fact that once in a while your standard character for the platformer will appear in front of the forefront graphic, all is just a glitch with sploder game makers.

As always, no game is perfect, but some games are definitely of higher standards. There really arent any issues with this game that I find too troublesome. The game isnt too long; Id say just the right length for the difficulty that it gets to. The main things Id complain about are sometimes in the second maze, the red hazards kill you too quickly, and on the final boss stage the right side puzzle of choosing which area to go through for the 8 lines of 3 colors is almost more trial and error or set up for you being lucky. Other than that, the story actually was well put together and helped the game move along rather than hinder it or not help at all. My only advice for you if you decide to play the game, be patient with the puzzles as some of them are really confusing.

Well, thats enough from me, lets score this stuff up!

The Good: Good story, Okay graphics, Amazing puzzles

The Bad: Boss level can be sort of a cheap blow

The Ugly: Trial and error BUT nothing really too bad.

Gameplay: 4.5/5

Creativity: 4.5/5

Decoration/Background/Feel: 4/5

Traps: 4/5

Addictiveness/Fun: 5/5

OVERALL: 4.4/5 !!!

Online has a charm to it that is hard to explain, why dont you go play it?!?! A top notch game to add to Paradons Collection! This game deserves its feature and many views as well! Thanks Parry for creating such an interesting take on the Platformer.
