Event Horizon is a game created by omega

Well, it's been a while. I've been been profusely busy so school, so I had around a 4 month hiatus. Anyway, I can't get on the forums, and if some of you all could give the forum heads a notice to let me get in, that would be nice. All aside, in honor of an Internet social media tradition practiced by many, I will be throwing it back to Event Horizon, published in late July of last year, but pardon me if this review is not "top-notch" or short compared to the other excellent reviews prior to this one.

The design and layout of the game is what strikes the player the most, a lovely black canvas illustrated by Omega with white, providing a mundane yet sharp contrast. Tiles are scattered in a varied, yet patterned matter, and deathspikes serving as traps are scattered strategically, adding difficulty to the matter. The "crude line" button is used properly, and actually was used by me as inspiration in some games, and properly layers a cruel, tough world.

Event Horizon is tricky, despite how simple it is. I mean, all you have to do is roll and jump right? Eh, not so. The ball is a bit slick and hard to control at moments, and Omega has to ruin the fun with spikes in inconvenient places, because he ruins everything (sarcastic comment there, no offense, :P). Since the square tiles are placed at such awkward positions, the path to the goal is not really smooth. Even in the first level, the road has MANY ups and downs, dents, and niches.

What draws my interest, and evidently others, is just the difficulty. The game is so simple, that when you lose, you have to try to redeem yourself or live your life in shame (hyperbole there, if that has actually happened to you, get off the Internet... NOW). Its mundane nature actually tortured me, I actually got mixed up because everything blended in. The placement of everything is so haphazard, yet cohesive. To be real, most people might look at this and ponder, "I could of made this, this is the simplest thing on this website." Yet, if you pay close attention to the details, you'll make out that this was secretly laced together into a strong, cohesive venture, with the irony being that this review boasting about the game's fluid yet rigid texture and layout, while having none itself.

Pardon the short length of this review, it has been a while. I just wanted to throw something out there, and I thought it would be cool if I did a TBT review. Overall, Event Horizon is a simple, crude masterpiece that will provide a frustrating yet mild challenge, which Omega has provided more of. If you enjoyed his work from 2012, his newer projects may intrigue you even more.
