OBJECTIVE: Link up with your allies in the area and together destroy Gamoran Outpost Eta! INTELLIGENCE DATA: Since your previous raid, several most of the damage has been rebuilt, but the defenses have been upgraded. The area is patrolled by 5 patrols of 2 guard ships and a speeder each. However, they are more spread out than before. 4 guard stations are situated around the area as well, at a good distance from the outpost, but somewhat csplode to it than the patrol ships. The guard stations do not have interceptors anymore; they are just a defense turret. The speederceptors have been distributed around the area, as well as a few additional guard ships. The outpost itself is diamond-shaped, with a armored wall that is two layers thick. Its front and rear vertexes are several layers thicker and are defended by a missile launcher, a repeller, and two defense turrets each, as well as containing one StarTank. The left and right vertexes of the outpost are even more heavily armored, being several layers thicker, and are protected by two defense turrets, two repellers, and two embedded tanks each. The 4 sides of the outpost are each defended by a HK-60D defense module each consisting of three repellers, a HK drone turret, and a reverser. There are about 10-15 repellers installed in the outpost itself. The outpost has 11 chambers. There are two fairly large ones in the front and rear of the outpost. They contain four prisoners in stasis spheres each, as well as a turret at their relative backs, in front of a trillium nitro explosive and two acid tanks. If you make it to that chamber, the turret will fire at you, hitting the nitro explosive, and within seconds, detonating it. In addition to damaging you if you are too close, the explosive will rupture the acid tanks, flood the area, further damage you, and slow you down. The 4 (total) small chambers on either side of the left and right vertexes contain a repeller and a StarTank each, and the medium-sized chambers between each of them, directly adjacent to the left and right vertexes, respectively, are empty. The chambers in between the small ones on the horizontal plane, in the front and rear of the outpost, have three mortars each. The center chamber of the outpost was where the high security prisoners broke out of during your previous raid. It now contains four small regen units and a atomic power core in its center. On both its left and right are a pair of acid tanks It is ringed by repellers, reversers, and disruptors. There are four repellers, one to a corner, two disruptors, and approximately 4-8 reversers. There is a teleporter hidden somewhere that leads to a massively armored but undefended station that the six escapees are hiding in. It contains a small ammo dump with some bombs, missiles, and mines, as well as two regen field generators. STRATEGY: Find the teleporter, collect the ammo and use the regen fields, then sortie out with your allies, blast through to the core of the outpost, freeing other allies along the way, and get to the atomic power core. Then, wreak havoc. Finally, hunt down to patrol ships one by one. TACTICS: Avoid the patrol ships as much as possible, and fly around until you find the teleporter. Get the ammo, etc., and then attack en masse. When you near the outpost, use your long range sensor map (press shift) your J-ray (x) bots (b) and bombs (c) to avoid and/or smash through the patrol ships and guard stations. Fly in quickly and touch the two drone turrets closest to you, and the either use bots or bombs to take out the defense turrets, and then vape the missile launcher with your j-ray. The armored walls should then be breached with the j-ray. Trip the trap, then realease as many more allies as possible. After you have done so, avoid or destroy the nearest disruptor with bombs or bots. Then, quickly fly like heck to get the nuke, penetrating the chambers with the j-ray. Don't forget to pick up the regen units, firing off a hail of bots to cover yourself. Once you have the power core, use your j-ray and bombs to smash the outpost. Finally, hunt down the ships one by one, and use any remaining bombs and bots to take as many out as possible from long range, then get in close and use your j-ray. If you get chased by several ships, don't hesitate to use your mines. BACKGROUND DATA: Now that the Gameron attack as been thwarted with the destruction of the supply and repair outposts, and they have been thrown into confusion because of the destruction of Communications Outpost Zeta, it is time to begin the attack in earnest. We must attack the dreaded prison outpost Eta. It is more important than it ever has been to free the several dozen prisoners captured in skirmishes along the frontier, for several reasons. First, all the ships are sentient, A.I.-controlled Starfire-class fighters, and we don't want the enemy stealing the technology or using them against us. Second, the Gamoran could hold them for ransom or use them as hostages to stall our advance. We cannot afford the loss in momentum that you have given us. Third, they will be a valuable addition to our fleet, helping to offset the significant numerical advantage that the Gamoran have over us. Finally, it would boost morale among our forces and lower that of the enemy to destroy the outpost, and besides, it lies in the path of further offenses. We are counting on you, in the Vanguard-class prototype strike ship, to destroy it and free the prisoners. Success!
