Stumbled is a game created by mat7772

Hi, BlueDeathRay back with another review for BDR Reviews. This review is on Stumbled by mat7772, but I’ll just call him mat throughout the rest of the review. A lot of people know mat as a fellow reviewer and a really good friend. I reviewed this game because he asked me to on the forums in the BDR Reviewing station and he’s my friend and a fellow reviewer, so how could I say no?

Pre-Thoughts:

At first, I had some concerns about this game. One of them was that I thought the game would lag a lot. Most games that are good or have a good game idea usually have lag. Some games that are really big like Survival by Sack don’t lag a lot because they spaced it out which is pretty cool, but I thought this wouldn’t be one of them. I’ve noticed a lot of games by reviewers or moderators or editors games usually lag because they make humongous games so they can get reviewed or get featured games, and I hate that. I was expecting a good idea, a game with a horrible lag, and overall a game of a lifetime.

Thumbnail:

The picture or “thumbnail” of this game looked amazing. It looked confusing and a maze. When I was growing up I loved mazes so I thought I was about to go back in time or something and play this game, that’s how the picture made me feel. The decoration and blocks looked pretty much the same so I thought this would be a hard game. So I went and faced the bumpy terrain.

Gameplay:

So as soon as I started I tripped. I was just walking and what the --- I fell in a ditch! Imagine just walking and falling into a hole. I was astonished at how good he hid the little bumps so I stayed on my toes from then on. I reluctantly went on. I have to say, that this is one of the best Sploder games ever. The block placement was perfect and I loved this idea for the video game. Stumbled is an un-original game and I’ve seen the name before used by Creatingames and by a lot of other people, but this Stumbled game really stood out.

Review:

So the game has no story, but that didn’t put the game down that much. His idea and how he expressed it was so good that I totally forgot about the story. Like I’ve said in other reviews, many people can have good ideas but if they can’t express their idea successfully then it doesn’t really matter how good their idea is. I was really enjoyed with this game

The block placement was perfect for a game called Stumbled. You fell every 2 seconds and it really made me stumble. If you don’t want a game that trips you repeatedly then the block placement will be horrible for you, but the game was amazing for me. I’ve never seen a game like this before. I loved this game so much that I wish it was mine. It’s relatively new so it only had 14 views, but this game’s views will skyrocket if people read this review.

The enemies were placed perfectly. They were placed in strategic places. What I mean by that is that they were placed right where they need to be to make sure I didn’t get bored of the game (like I was going to anyways). If you think you’ve seen a game that had perfect enemy placement you’re wrong. The enemies put you in near death experiences and make you make near death decisions, which is really hard. So the enemies were placed perfect.

The power ups were amazing. They help you out just when you need them, and just where they need to be. I’ve only seen like 1 or 2 games with better power up placement than this game but it still was great. I just wish he put more checkpoints but that’s all. I love this game but I wish he used the power ups more often. So, there were a few negatives for this game but it’s still good.

This maze was the best. I have to say that his mazes and traps in this game are amazing. The whole game is one huge maze and there are around 1, 2… No wait around 1,000 traps to fall or lead yourself into. Every wrong turn there will be some creative trap waiting around the corner just for you. If the rest of his games are like this then he is my new favorite creator. I wish he used the power ups and maze and bond them together.

The background is awesome and confusing. It looked like the blocks so I didn’t know what the background was and what the blocks was, so that made me stumble even more. I give credit to mat7772 for choosing this game idea because it was a fresh new expressed idea that I loved so much that I wish the game was mine. This game was amazing and it is really good.

Positives:

There were a lot of positives for this game. One of them was the map. The maze was amazing and I liked it so much. Another thing I liked was the block placement. As I said before it confused me in such a way and I wish other games made me feel that way also. There were so many positives that I put in the other parts of the review so I don’t want to sound repetitive so overall this game was amazing and awesome.

Negatives:

There were a few negatives, and power ups were one of them. They were still amazing but there weren’t enough of them. I’m sorry this paragraph is so short but I barley have any negatives. These are the negatives.

Mazes/Traps: _____/_____

Power ups: ____/_____

Conclusion:

This game is feature worthy. I wouldn’t really count on a story to make the game so overall without the story this game would be around feature worthy. Change the power ups as in place more of them strategically like he has been doing and you will be a great creator of Sploder.com
