[BDR] 5th Review Celebration! :D
Bloks Loxs is a game created by filiptokic
My 5th Review! Bloks Loxs, you are one lucky game!
Introduction:
Hi guys, back with my 5th review! Today I will be reviewing Bloks Loxs by Filiptokic. I have never played his games before, noticed he was on for only four months, and is already level 250! Also, he PM’d me on the forums to review this game so I decided to because this would be his first review…
Pre-Thoughts:
I didn’t know what to expect from this game. There was around 200 views, so I decided to boost them up a little bit. I was expecting a very hard game that would knock my socks off when I played it because of the difficulty. The difficulty was 9 out of 10, so I imagined that it would be hard, since not many good games get to that point. This game looked pretty good, since it got around 200 views for a guy that’s only been on Sploder for a couple months. So, I was expecting a good game, with a good enough challenge for a feature.
Thumbnail:
The thumbnail looked like you were abandoned in a stange place, and you don’t know where you are. Yes, I love games like this. It’s a mystery-puzzle-platformer game and I love these, they’re my favorite. There are crates surrounding the place, like you’ve been hidden in there to make sure the workers don’t see you automatically. So, I played this game and…
Gameplay:
This game is amazing, better than some of mine. This game overall had a challenge but not too hard to play, not laggy for my old computer, and overall a game that I love. This game has it all, power ups in places to tease you, just the correct amount of enemies, not too much, not nothing, but just enough to keep me going, and that’s just how I like it.
Review:
Okay, so this game doesn’t have a story, and that’s going to hurt his score in the “story” section in my ratings. I’m not going into much detail into this paragraph because I am talking about the story but as I just said there is no story I wish there were stories so I could just make a paragraph about them like, come on!
The block placement was amazing. I guess the bloxs in bloxs loxs means that it will have good block placement, because it did. He put lava right where it needed to be, made height adjustments, and but hidden blocks in places where you would never see them coming. He had a lot of switches, burst tiles, and cl0sers all over the place, which made the game a lot more fun, causing me to keep playing. Good job, filiptokic.
The enemy placement was amazing also. It put me into a state of shock when he found out he used mostly Mongols. The Mongols are really fast but barley does enough damage. But, he put enough of them to make them faster and more powerful than a dozen kikuchiyos. He places them in the correct areas to make you scared, and other objects like lava to scare you and make you give up. This game had great enemy placement.
The power ups are a great aspect of this game. He put some just to tease you by putting them on immovable crates, which got me really upset because I needed those power ups. The power ups usually corresponded with the enemies and background of the game, which surprised me because most platformer game creators don’t know how to do that, so I was amazed by the time and effort he put into this game.
The background is awesome, and makes the game that much more fun. It gave me the sense that I was in a place, where I wasn’t supposed to be. I loved the background, even though it was one of the most un-original and most used backgrounds in the entire platformer game creator, but since he used the background properly it was expressed greatly so I loved it.
The mazes were fantastic, and made me run around and try to find my way out. There were cl0sers to confuse you on where to go, and burst tiles where I thought they would never be. It made me use the radar at some points because I was too confused about where I was, and where I was supposed to go, which made me really happy.
The traps scared me. He put lava in so many places I thought I was going to die. They were placed well, and I was astonished on by what he put to make the traps even scarier, more Mongols. Seriously, there were so many traps and enemies all over the place that I didn’t know what to do for a while. The Traps were good, and so was the game.
Positives:
Okay, I don’t know where to begin. Well, I’ll start with that this game there are good traps and puzzles all over the place, the background corresponds with the overall game, it was fantastic for a 4 month user, there was awesome enemy and power up placement, and there was an amazing maze that had me twisting and turning all around, which I Ioved.
Negatives:
Well there was no story, and there were a lot of enemies, and now that I think about it a little more, maybe a little too much enemies. There aren’t any more negatives so I can’t make a full paragraph, sorry.
Feature Worthy?
Um let me think… YES! This game had it all as ^^stated above^^. This game is in fact feature worthy. Some people say that this game is terrible, just because they can’t beat the game trying to be total epic fail noobsauce. This game is feature worthy and I think that if I ever become an editor (superluigi77 hint hint XD) that I will feature this game.
Ratings:
Conclusion:
Overall, this game is pretty much perfect. It’s feature worthy, has perfect enemy placement, block placement, traps, and mazes. The background was great, but there is no story. If there was a story then there would be more of a reason to feature this game. Overall, this game has it all, an amazing game, the best kind of game, and a fantastic creator.
