Winter Wonderland is a game created by jeoffffff

This is captainalex with a review of Winter Wonderland, by jeoffff... no, sorry its jeofffff... or is it jeofffffff... ah never mind.

I had decided not to make any game reviews for a while, but when I played this game, I had to review it.

Pre-thoughts

My first reaction to this game was "Winter Wonderland? Sounds easy." I don't know jeoffffff (six f's now that I realize it) at all, or know what his games are like, but I decided to give this one a try.

The Game

Was a fun challenge, but also very innovative. Level 1 was a prime example of this- you had to navigate your way through randomly spinning platforms that changed direction to get floating coins. The catch? The platform weren't spinning randomly, they actually move with the way the player moves, which can cause some problems until you get the hang of it. At first I couldn't figure out how the platforms were switching directions all the time at all the wrong times (fail, I know) and I was really stumped by it. The only way to win the level is to figure that out, and bump your player all around the screen with the platforms. THe only problem is that when the platforms rotate on way, the player goes through the air the same way. If you weren't careful, you'd be at the bottom again. All in all, you really had to get the hang of the first level to win.

The second level of the game was in the shape of a house, with spheres (snowballs, maybe?) rolling down the first hallway, enemies running down the second, and a sort of maze with random ice balls flying all over inside. This part wasn't too challenging, but still was really fun. It got kind of intense, even, when you got to the top part of the maze right below where the ice ball spawner was. You only had 2 lives in this level, though I bet you could do it with only one ;).

Level 3 was a hilarious snowball fight with snowmen (xD), two small, one huge. This level was the hardest in my opinion, due to the fact that you couldn't touch the snowmen, there was a large snowball spawner in the middle, and you only had the precise amount of ammo needed to win. Which means, NO MISSING. The snowballs also decayed in mid-air if they didn't hit a snowman in a certain period of time. The snowmen were the only graphics jeffffff used in Winter Wonderland (I'll talk more about graphics later).

The gameplay of Winter Wonderland was nice and lag-free for me (yay!). It was a pretty light-hearted in total, a fun game to play with really no storyline at all, but that was fine for this game. Despite being a challenge, it was fun and relaxing, a hard balance to get. Basically, if you're looking for a hard-core game with a deep storyline, then this isn't your type of game.

The graphics. Ah, yes. The lack of graphics in this game was a real let-down for me (:/). Some shapes like the snowballs in the snowball fight even remained the original brown color. This game would be a lot more appealing if just a little more effort was put into the graphics part (though I can't blame jeoffffff if he doesn't like the graphics creator). Just a bit more color would have been nice, or a background for the house in level 2. Graphics were the only real flaw in this game.

Hmm, I sense my word well is running dry so it's time for the ratings!

RATINGS OUT OF 6

Gameplay: _____

Challenge: ______

Fun: _____

Graphics: __

OVERALL: ____

and 1/2

Any Last Words:

Overall I give this a 4.5 out of 6. Not quite feature-worthy due to the limited amount of work in how the game looked, but it was good in everything else. Nice job, jeoffffff.
