Toxic Terror is a game created by kingoffangdams

Introduction

Hello everyone, this is my 82nd review and today I will be reviewing Toxic Terror by kingoffangdams. Ever since I've recently come back from my inactivity on the forums, kingoffangdams has become a user I've become to familiarise with. Playing his games his strongest creator to me is the shooter and all his featured games have been with that creator, so coming in this game I had some good expectations for this game, especially seeing as I gave him some tips on what he could add to his game. Anyway, I'm sure you don't really want to hear me go on all day about my pre-thoughts and I don't have any more anyway, so let's get straight on with the reviews.

Review

One thing I must say about Toxic Terror is that I think that this is probably KoF's best game so far. When I've played his previous shooters, I'm playing the game thinking "C'mon, I've seen all this done before" but with this game I found it much more creative. It included an interesting maze which was very fast as there were a lot of enemies and there spider boss battles which much better to play. When I've previously played some of KoF's spider key battles they have been really dull to play. However, I feel that KoF really spiced them up a bit in this game and made them more than just an ordinary spider boss battle and he's done a good job with them. My only concerns over the boss battles are that for the first one you can easily make your way in to the corners to defeat the red key and on the final one I found it a bit cramped, but what I did like was that they were unique and weren't just your ordinary spider boss battle.

One thing that I felt that Toxic Terror was lacking was some puzzles. He had one earlier on in the game which I've seen many times before although it was made a little bit differently, but that was the only puzzle in the only game. What KoF did include more of though were some traps. What I liked about these traps were that you can avoid them using your brain. If you are falling asleep on your keyboard and not putting your mind into the game, it's easy to fall into them. But using a bit of common sense you can make your way around them. The only thing linked to traps that annoyed me though was the maze. All I'm going to say is that you can't get any health or anything like that from the whole maze, and baring this in mind you can easily pretty much make your whole maze around knowing that the invisible walls are where the path goes toward a power up.

Toxic Terror generally was a fast action packed and challenging game. The amount of health in this game was just about right in my opinion because it's beatable without it being too hard. I eventually beat it in a time of about 7-8 minutes which goes to show that the game is a good length as well. I liked the enemy placement; it isn't too easy to use bots or whatever to make your way around because there are mortars stopping you and pushers forcing you to get on with it. One of my favourite parts of the game though was the start. Immediately as you start playing the game your into some action and the way that switch changes the playfield almost completely made me want to carry on playing this game.

One thing that KoF is really consistent on is his scenery. Going in to this game I knew there was going to be a bit of scenery, especially looking at the thumbnail. I don't think the scenery in this game was KoF's best simply because it didn't last throughout the whole game, but KoF did use different colour polygon's and artwork to make this game look good. Now onto the ratings.

Conclusion

Overall, this game deserves a 4/5. In my opinion, this game is definitely feature worthy and possibly even his best game yet. I found KoF was much more creative in this game using the maze and more interesting spider boss battles and generally I think he made this game pretty well. The only thing I'd like to see better is more and better puzzles that are made a little bit differently, but apart from that, this is a very solid game!
