Before you ask, no, there was never a first chapter, or a movie that this was meant to be the successor of. 'THe Second Chapter' was an interesting name that entered my mind when I was trying to think of an innovative story plot, most movies like this would be things like 'The Next Chapter' or 'The Lost Chapter', or even 'The Final Chapter'. Basically something complex, so I chose something simple, but confusing. Don't worry, all will be explained very soon... ;)
