Hello, some of you may recognise this Review. That's because it's my Application. I found it lying around on my Computer so I decided to post it here and see how much my Reviews have improve. I also fixed a couple of Grammar errors I made. So, for my 31st Review (And my Application) I'm going to Review Into The Darkness by psychosocial821

Pre-Thoughts

I’ve played all of Psychosocial821’s Games and they are brilliant, but he can improve on some Stuff. This is his first Game so my expectations are slightly lower then his others though. But that doesn’t mean he gets away with anything, playing the others I still have high expectations

Thumbnail

You look at that Thumbnail and think “Wow, and this is his first Game?” I mean really, how many First Games use Scenery? It looks like it’s going to be a good First Game, and hopefully it will be a good game

Gameplay

And if you say that you would be correct. The Game may be easy, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad Game. Psychosocial actually turned lighting off for an Extra effect. Which is also pretty sweet, although you get the odd light before leaving the Room, he’s also made the Background a Spooky horror theme, more about all that in the scenery Section. And the moment you’re outside you’re almost immediately (After jumping over some logs) attacked by a Thug, before walking into grass and you suddenly realise where the enemy was placed. You continue your Happy journey before there’s more Enemies, currently Enemy Placement has been alright. After a few more Enemies and a little swimming you’re finally at something new. Jumping over Lava, this is pretty cool and you have to swim through Water as well with Lava in which is also cool. But the Highlight has to be the next Part, Sprinting across some bricks with one Mistake and you’re down to your Painful death. And after that it’s back to the Start, well. The Gameplay is the same. Before a Boss, yay! Which was rather disappointing though… and worst of all. It doesn’t require you to kill it. I beat it without any Problems apart from the fact I lost a life. The Game feels a lot shorter then it really is. Taking most people about 4-6 Minutes but as I’ve had practise my Average is 2-3 Minutes. There’s no Lag ruining the Game though

Puzzles & Traps

There aren’t any Puzzles, no seriously. Not even the slightest Puzzle, no thinking needed at all. But if you play this you’ll learn it’s all about the Battles and the effect.

The same with Traps, none of them. Only something that convinces you (I’ve given enough of the Game away, so I’m not giving you even the Slightest clue is. Well, apart from this. Play it to find out)

Placement

Enemy Placement is alright, Enemies are placed a little too often though. The FireTroll at the end could’ve been placed a little better. If it had been moved forward a little more the Game may have forced you to beat it to progress further. Luckily the first part had good placement

Health place was alright I guess, there’s a Secret Room where Health and Life Placement is poor and makes the Game as easy as saying a very long Sentence, take “The Fish was eaten by the Fisherman who enjoyed it” It’s now just about impossible to fail. But that just takes away valuable time. Usually you get health after Battles which is understandable (Apart from the Boss) but if you went into that Secret Room all Health is Pointless.

Overall, placement was alright. But could be spoiled a bit

Scenery

Not much Scenery apart from the Start, which was the Default Wall sadly :( That was it so I can’t make a Paragraph that long on Scenery. Apart from the fact it also gave an Effect and the Background also contributed to that spooky effect. And no Lighting Effects also add to it

Pros

Good for a First Game

Fun for a Game without Puzzles and Traps

Placement (In places)

No Lag

Cons

Little Scenery

Short & Easy

No Puzzles

Placement (In places)

Easy Boss Battle
