AdventureQuest is a game created by aditya75

Hello fellow readers. It is that time again, to get off the couch and actually do something benefits this website. And how am I going to benefit this website today? I am taking an EGD game off the queue! Hoorah for me! Now it's time for me to stop blaffering around and review AdventureQuest (da da da da!) by aditya75 for my 18th review.

Pre-thoughts:

I'm not a fan of aditya75, his games are short, don't have that much originality apart from the style (there's always something to the style of his games that could be so unique, like the banana cookie, a disgusting one but it needs a better ingredient than banana. Owait-) and they're barely addictive. Well, it seems today that my thoughts on aditya could change. After all this is EGD, and perhaps he pulled out a fantastic game like some of us did?

The thumbnail doesn't look too inviting, but it's not a turn-off either. The Clo'sers look like they'll give the player a kick start that a game always needs, and there could be lots of traps, as I see many switches that will leave to trouble. Perhaps they will leave to banana cookies? Bweh, nothing worse than that. But, let's see where the title takes me, eh?

Review:

This game is like a maze at the start. There's some options, but only one is right. This is where the first trap that I saw. It was pretty dull, like the poor banana cookie over there. Poor banana cookie. Anyway, I can probably relate this game to a banana cookie. It's okay when you bite into it, but once your taste-buds really bite into it, it's horrible. So what I'm saying is, the start is average, but it gets a lot worse from there. The game only lasts for about 2-5 minutes, so it's all over in a, very slow, click of a finger, and I would've liked to see more length in AdventureQuest, as it is supposed to be a competition where we work our butts off.

And it seems the let downs keep coming. AdityaQuest, I mean AdventureQuest, had obviously no effort put in to make the slightest original puzzle. And that's a crucial let down. There were in-fact puzzles, so I'm not talking about puzzles, when really, it's an action game, (though this genre was more action/ adventure than puzzles) so don't think I'm talking nonsense sweet pie, because you are sooo wrong. In-fact, the only puzzles I saw was deciding which way to go (at the start) whether to hit a switch and just a plain power glove and wheel puzzle.

The traps were average too. There weren't clever traps, and the traps were going the wrong way or hitting a deadly switch which led you to the banana cookie, (also know as a dead end) so Matteh no pleased. :(

There was no health placed in AdventureQuest, but it was a small game where you rarely encountered an enemy and fought it directly. So really, there was no need for health. I guess aditya got the health part right. However, there was a grappling hook placed in this game, and I actually used this to dodge one of the stronger traps at the end, so I would suggest not adding grappling hooks near puzzles which involve lava.

There were barely any enemies in this game, but there was barely anywhere to place them, because this game was so small. There were enemies in the traps though, but they weren't enemies that you had to fight to get past them. I saw many places down the bottom in the first level where enemies could have been placed to create better action scenes. There were lots of hazards (especially lava) placed in the game, and I guess they were placed alright, but one place I saw there NEEDED to be lava, but instead, aditya placed spikes, so you can just avoid the part, which was in-fact a puzzle disappointing, like the banana cookie.

The scenery was a mixture of good and bad, but mostly bad... like the banana cookie, old jokes for the win! Anyway, there was lots of different back wall tiles, but some (I can probably go as far as saying most) were the wrong choice. It just looked ugly with the floor tiles, and that made me go "bweh" at it. Err excuse me... BWWEEEEHHHHH

Final paragraph of the main review? Is it a good one?... BANANA COOKIE. Well, yeah, the banana cookie has striked again, taking down critical health from AdventureQuest. AdventureQuest was no where near creative. There was overused puzzles and traps, and no new concepts I saw. Disappointing, even worse than the banana cookie. It was... AS BAD AS EATING SNAILS! Well, almost... -Throws up from meal- killer snnnaaailllsss...

So, after my problems from throwing up, eating hundreds of banana cookie and eating my snail meal, it is time for the cons and pros... SEE WHAT I DID THERE?

Pros:

Traps: There were lots of traps at the start, that trapped me with the... BANANA COOKIE (Otherwise the traps were horrible, un-creative, etc)

Cons:

Puzzles: Very un-creative puzzles were included. Not one I saw was aditya's own.

Placement: More enemies could've been placed at the bottom of level one to create better action scenes, a grappling hook was placed and I used that to avoid a puzzle. That's only some of the weak placement.

Scenery: It was very ugly and didn't match the floor tiles, in my opinion.

Creativity: This game had nothing to it that was creative, or at least nothing made me thought of it being creative:

Ratings:

Action: 0.5/5. The only action was fighting a bat and avoiding a terribly placed native and firetroll towards the end of the game.

Puzzles and traps: 0.5/5. You could avoid one of the crucial puzzles, which was a big NO NO for me, and the traps were only at the start, and were pretty boring and were un-original.

Scenery: 0.75/5. There were lots of back tiles used, but they didn't match the floor tiles and overall looked ugly.

Difficulty: 3/5. The only thing that was placed at a decent level. It can be beaten, but really, once I get pretty far in the first level, I don't want to try again.

Placement: 0.5/5. Very sloppy, and so many things could've been placed to make it better.

Overall: 1/5

Conclusion:

Overall, AdventureQuest gets a 1/5 from me. It was a weak game, and I'm sorry aditya if I offended you, but this is my honest opinion. I'd be happy to help you out on your future games if you want.

Feature worthy? It was featured through EGD, but I disagree (as you can see) I don't think I need to state my opinion, as I've already said so much about the game. EGL worthy? No. It was un-original and wasn't very fun. How can I say yes to a game I didn't enjoy?

Now I'm off. Oh, my, cookies, it's a... shiny... CHOCK CHIP COOKIE. =DDDDDDDDD COME HERE MY BABY!
