Violet Skies is a game created by creatingames

Ever wondered how skies can be violet? Me too. Today we will solve this great mystery, so join me as we venture through Violet Skies by Creatingames. You can tell Im running dry on introductions when I write this into a review. Shall we get onto the game then?

Chances are, if youre still with me, youre most likely CG. So CG, prepare for some game bashing. Usually I start with the main genre and discuss about that, how well the maker executed it, so on. HOWEVER, I cant really waffle on about that. Why you ask? This game is confused. Like a twelve year old child deciding whether they should listen to their Selena Gomez or Ariana Grande, there is simply no answer. Thats like this game, it listens to two generic artists at the same time. Putting this into game termy stuff, Violet Skies appears to be an action game when you first try to escape bombs being fired at you in some nitro, and then you do and youre rushing on but then, youre halted by a spider key, blocked by a door. What is this puzzle doing INTRUDING in this game? Its kind of like youre listening to your Ariana Grande (I hope not) and youre friend comes over and starts singing that Rihanna song (FouR FIIIVvvee seconds to losing it). Luckily for me, I dont have any friends that sing generic songs. This annoying procedure keeps happening within the game, its almost like listening to a song and it buffers ON SPOTIFY. I dont even own spotify so yeah, dont bash me if songs dont buffer there. I wouldve enjoyed the game more if it managed to merge the two together a little better, rather than having a full out action scene and then waiting for your invisibility to go away for literally a minute.

If youve managed to survive that paragraph of me waffling, well done for you, silver star, but Im going to have to break the news that we wont be finding out why skies are violet. Talking about the puzzles, they were good, not great, but good. A lot of them however, required you to start the game over because you were a scrub and did it completely incorrect, and then you had to find the motivation to pass through the stop-and-start nature of the game. Kind of like how you listen to an Ariana Grande song and cant get those valuable four minutes of your life back. I mean, this game isnt as bad as Break Free or whatever, but its still a little bland when you encounter a puzzle. Some of the puzzles were kind of clever though, like you had to use your ally to reach an invisibility and then unlock the path for him, but that puzzle was ruined when I had to maneuver my ally around an inconveniently placed orange switch, and guess what happened the first three tries. CG please be kind.

The action however, was really enjoyable. There were a few scenes forced you into the situations and you couldnt just hide and snipe them down like proper action games, so that made the game fairly exhilarating. The first half of the action scenes are great examples. I honestly think this game was featured mainly because of the action, because I believe the puzzles were good at best. My favourite scene of the game was the first encounter with the cruisers and launchers, because it made you strategically approach it and if you didnt, you could lose a fair part of your health, like the time wasted listening to Ariana Grande.

Overall, I did not love Violet Skies like a love song (SELENA GOMEZ PUNS) but the action scenes excited me, and some of the puzzle sequences made me stop and go oh, that was neat. This was let down by some annoying insta-traps, so overall, I wouldnt feature Violet Skies, but I can see the reason it was placed there.

3.5/5

Sorry for the misleading intro.
