Defend the Rectangle is a game created by paradon

Hey look, it's another review by me. It's amazing! I just felt like my last one was horrible, so I needed to make up for that. I've prepared myself for the best review ever, and all you aught to do the same thing. Well, I've got all my supplies beside be, so let's get this review going.

Today I have decided to review Defend the Rectangle by none other than paradon. I heard that this game was really hard so I decided to take a crack at it. I knew that Paradon has talent with any and every game editor, so I had high hopes. I wasn't so sure though with the thumbnail and all if this game was going to actually be good. But, I haven't been known to be a person to be one of little faith, so I still went and played it.

As the game opened, it looked easy enought. It had simple controls to circle a platform around a single black rectangle. I soon learned that the game was not all that it seemed. This was possibly one of the hardest Physics games I've ever played. You have to block different colored arrows coming at you from every which direction. This doesn't seem that hard, some arrows tend to be faster than others. You also have a small capsule of lives.

You may be thinking, "If this game is so hard, why should I even play it." Well rest assured, there is a strategy to this diabolical game. Most people will realize after a death or two that there are chains that these arrows take. The chains start out easy, but as each level increases in difficuly, so do the lengths of the chains. So, in order to win this game, you will probably need to have a mind that can memorize chains that speed by you faster in each level. One other thing that may help would be hanging at each corner of the rectangle. If you can master these two things, then you may have a chance in completing this game.

I can tell that Paradon spent more time on creating the chains, then working on the graphics. This isn't really a bad thing though. The graphics aren't sloppy and there is some detail in them. Because of this, the graphics don't get in the way of the gameplay. This is a good thing because the game is already chaotic enough! The game could have used a more creative backgroung, but I think that Paradon used the grayish one so that you could see the arrows clearly enough. I would have also enjoyed a more colorful rectangle.

Pros- This game was difficult, but it was possible. I love games that look simple, but behind the simplicity there is plenty to think about. There graphics weren't the best, but they didn't get in the way of clean gameplay.

Cons- Paradon's Graphics could have had a little more detail. I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE SOME MORE ROOM FOR THE PLATFORM TO GET TO THE ARROWS.

Was it feature worthy?

I say yes. I loved that you had to think in such a simple game. The graphics weren't they best, but as I've said so many times, they didn't make the game anymore chaotic. I enjoyed this game, and I know many others have as well.
