An Epic Trip is a game created by diegoelectro1111

Hey its paq here, and Im doing a review by MY CHOICE. Most reviewers are nagged on by people to review there game, so mostly I will do joke reviews for you people :) But the ones I do, oh well they will be nice and pretty. Just like this Epic Trip Im heading on by DiegoElectro1111.

Pre-thoughts

Checking out the featured games page, and I see a few new games. One of those I see is an EPIC trip. And get this, there are wheels... in the thumbnail. Im thinking, Now this must be a new type of game style. And I sure was right. The downside to this, was that I got reminded of master106. Shivers. I dont feel like boring you guys to death by writing an overly long review, so this one is going to be straight into the point. In that case, lets focus on what this review is actually about, an Epic Trip.

Review

Woah, I would like to point out the 8-bit graphics style in this game. The scenery this way looks more beast. There are lots of wheels, switches, and balls :) (lol). Diego has it going where you have to keep on going, to get on with the movement in the game. I see some new wheel puzzles in this one, including shooting balls with a mouse gun, going through cbleep puzzles, and having a heck of a time. Its hard to die in this, Id say you would just get trapped a lot and have to restart. Grrrr.

Now Im going to go into certain aspects of the game. Ive really just been talking about the layout of the game, and the puzzles and traps, not how well the scenery has been placed, or how he has made odd objects work together. Like, who uses a hovercraft in a puzzle game? Diego does. Thats why this game is so unique from others. Next time, I want to see him use an ally xD.

A Special Notice

Members like Diegoelectro deserver more hits. Some people have Epic games, but they never get noticed. I havent even heard of the guy until this game got featured. This could be you after all. Eh, whatever.

Back to the Review

Even though he uses the great feature of wheels to make his game work, they can be a little glitchy at times. For example, a few times when I was going through this cool illusion, I got trapped. Its annoying when you get trapped in platformer with extra lives, because you cant suicide and restart the level. About half of the time in some of the areas the puzzles actually worked, but it was mostly by chance. Hey, its still possible. Just a heads up that you might need a lot of time to do this game...

The scenery shifts in this game quite often, as to purple themed, a white tile theme, or a theme that mainly relies on the colors of the puzzles. I think it is pretty well done this way, because you can notice the scenery more because you use it as a puzzle too. Some people work hours on there game perfecting the scenery. This one takes that away almost immediately.

The Placement of the blocks is very good. Making sure that the balls always activate the right switches would have to be right in place, which would take a while to make. But Diego still has the patience to do all of that. My only wish was that it wasnt easy to screw up the game by taking the wrong path, because in some levels, you dont even have to follow the path to win. (a.k.a, level 2.) But that is minor because the real way to do it is still available to you.

The enemy placement was totally wonderful! I saw one enemy trapped in a box on the intro level!

The difficulty in this game in my opinion is way too easy. For this concept, I think he could of added lots more hazards to the game, or made it more difficult to control the balls and switches or what not. I think if Diego made this game with a chance you would die, then it would be more up to my standard level.

We need more games like this. This type of game is a nice set up to a new chain of puzzles, and he has probably inspired good game makers to create games similar to that trip. The game was pretty addicting I must say, because of the will to beat it. People dont really like games where you almost immediately die, they like games where you have a chance and can progress deep into the game.

(Spoiler alert!)

The last level is just wheel illusions. Nothing special.

Conclusion

An Epic Trip was a fun game to play, and a good use of my time. I really enjoyed the puzzles and certain aspects of the game, but I still think he could make it harder. I do believe that this game is feature worthy due to its new puzzles and cool design, but I also believe that it could become a contest winner. Anyways, this is probably Diegos best game, and I think he did a good job on it.

Thanks for reading guys, and I hope I didnt bore you to death!
