Escape is a game created by blackhole2

Introduction:

Hello again. I'm here once again with another review. (yay) So, I'll be reviewing a game called Escape by blackhole2. The title of the game is one of the most commonly used game titles, so I can't expect too much just by reading the game's title. But hopefully, this game ends up being better than the rest of the games that are also named Escape. So, I'm looking at the thumbnail now and it looks pretty complex and challenging. Hopefully it's not too challenging. I want to finish games that I review, though that might not be happening anytime soon.

Review:

The goal of the game is to basically get your cube thing to that other cube thing to win.(because just saying cube is too mainstream.) It seems simple, but it isn't. You'll have to open the closed pathways by grabbing those keys before you can get to your main goal, but that isn't too easy either. There are a lot of hazards that you have to avoid to get to your main goal and to the keys. Escape doesn't require too much thinking compared to other games, but the game requires you to plan your next move carefully, and of course to move carefully. If you don't, you'll just keep going back to square one. The concept of the game isn't all that new, I've seen some similar games before. Actually, it reminds me of the world's hardest game, but a bit easier, I think. (Anyone know that game? It isn't a sploder game btw.)

Is the game difficult? If you were to ask me, I'd say yes. The first level might've been a piece of cake,(lies, lies everywhere) but when you get to the second level, it's so much more difficult than what you'd normally expect. Then when you get further into the game, it looks impossible to complete. The difficulty gap between each level is too freaking large. Nevertheless, Escape is still a really fun game. No matter how much times I end up shouting at it and punching my laptop for being too difficult, it's still fun. Escape is a really addicting game. I wasn't able to complete the game, but I think I got pretty far. I feel pretty achieved now, because I was able to beat more than half of the levels in Escape. Yay.

Hazards, hazards everywhere. Even if you can't see them, they're still there. They're just waiting for you to bump into them. Especially on the third level. Everything in level three was placed in suspicious and mysterious areas. You wouldn't expect a hazard to be there, but it would be too late once you realize that. You already bumped into it, and looky here, it's game over. Compared to the other levels, level three is just well, different. But, I'm not saying that the rest of the game is trash and that level three is the only thing good about Escape. Nope, not at all. All the levels were excellent and unique in their own special way. I really do like the enemy placements in this game, there were a lot of hazards, but it wasn't a bad thing. They were all placed in the most appropriate places. The other placements were also very nicely done, and the game itself doesn't look tedious, it looks neat. I like things neat and tidy. Good job on that, blackhole2.

Game design is simple. Not too simple, just simple. I liked the fact that it was simple, but not too simple at the same time. It's just right. But, some of the hazards have a different pattern/color from the rest, even if they do the same thing. I found that pretty confusing while playing Escape. I couldn't really identify which moving thing could hurt me and which moving thing didn't affect my lives in the game. I think that each item should be a bit uniform, so that the players wouldn't be too confused about where to go and what to do. Other than that, I don't have much to say. But overall, the design of Escape is pretty average.

Puzzles, the puzzles confuzzle me. You have to do this, then that, then oops. I had to repeat each level numerous times just to get to the next one. (yes, even level one. imma nubcaik.) They weren't anything too original though.Nothing too new, from what I can see. But, that doesn't really mean its bad. Blackhole2 stepped up his work to a slightly higher level. Making those used puzzles his own original puzzles by complicating and revising them a bit more. I had fun trying to solve each puzzle that comes my way while playing through Escape.

Pros:

-Challenging

-Addicting

-Placements are excellent

-Clean design

Cons:

-Game is a bit too long, it may be addicting, but almost no one would be willing to spend 20 minutes on one game

-Used concept

-Difficulty gap between each level is too large

Ratings:

Creativity: ___.5/_____

Design is alright, but I still kind of wanted it to be a bit better. Plus the enemies need to be a bit more identifiable.

Placements: _____/_____

Placements were simply excellent.

Originality: ___.5/_____

Blackhole2 might've had a used concept and some used puzzles in his game, but he was able to step it up to a higher level.

Addictiveness: _____/_____

Very addicting indeed.

Difficulty: ____.5/_____

Challenging, but worth playing. I just don't like that the difficulty gap between each level is really huge.

Overall: ____.3/_____

Conclusion:

Overall, this game may have its own set of pros and cons, but Escape is still a pretty good game. I had fun playing the game and writing this review. I hope you did as well. Anyway, since this game isn't featured, imma feature it right now. The game is very much worthy of a feature, no doubt. Oh, and thank you all for reading my review. Much appreciated.
