Whisper is a game created by dudki

Introduction:

Ohaider everyone. I'm here once again for another review. Today, I'll be reviewing the platformer game called Whisper by dudki. The thumbnail of this game looks pretty mysterious. It makes me wonder what's in store for me. Whisper seems like one of those puzzle platformer games. If it is a puzzle platformer, I most likely will not be able to beat the game. I know that there are a lot of good puzzle plats out there. But, I wonder... Will this game be able to match up to those other good puzzle platformers? Or, will it just be one of those average games? Let's find that out.

Review:

Okay, I have to capture the crystals. Easy enough. (I think.) But before even pressing the 'click to play' button, I already knew I would have to take a peek at the walkthrough video that dudki had provided in the game's description. But, I decided not to because I wanted to try and beat the game on my own for once. But, I gave up on that after the first few seconds of the game. The only thing I managed to do really, really amazingly well was to fall off every platform I landed/stepped on. I just have that amazing talent. No one can clumsily lose a game within that short span of time, nu-uh. I'm just that awesome, it's one of my most fabulous hidden talents.

Is it difficult? Duh. It's like supercalifragilisticexpialidocious difficult. That word alone explains how difficult Whisper is. You don't know where the heck to go, what the heck to do, and you can't really tell the difference between which tile is just a background tile, and which tile is a tile tile. And then you only realize how well-made this game actually is by watching the walkthrough video. And in the end, you realize how dumb you really are while trying to solve all the puzzles in this game. Moving on, I didn't really find this game too addicting. After a short while, I got tired of playing Whisper. I think the main reason why it wasn't all that addicting was because it was too difficult for almost anyone to get far or to beat the game. Dudki should've thought about that first before making such a hard game.

I honestly liked how everything was placed in this game. It felt neat and orderly in my opinion. There was enough of everything, health, powerups, hazards, enemies, everything. The placements in this game are spectacular. I'm really impressed. I wasn't expecting too much from this game when I first saw it to be honest, the game just didn't give me that 'wow' impression. It was more like, 'seems cool, I'll try it.' So far, I can see that this game is really something. It isn't your average game that you see everyday. It's different. It stands out differently from the rest. I don't really have much to comment on the placements, because I didn't see anything that needed improvement or revisions. It's already good as it is. So, why fix something that was never even broken?

For the design, I can say it's alright. Could use some more improvement, but I don't see much/any problem with it. It looks presentable and simple, not too simple though, so it's just right for my taste. Though the tiles were a bit confusing, it's still alright in my opinion. Actually, I think it makes the game a bit more of a challenge. I wouldn't say the design of Whisper is perfect though, its just in the middle. I don't have much to say here either because frankly, the design doesn't need too much improvement, it's okay as it is.

The puzzles in Whisper are really something. There was such a large variety of puzzles that your could solve. Some would require you to act fast, while some require the player to move carefully and slowly. I also like the fact that dudki used some glitches in his game to make some things that aren't possible to do normally in most games possible. I'm impressed. Some maybe used, but the mixture of new and old puzzles was fantabulous. The puzzles are simply outstanding. I commend dudki on that.

Pros:

-Excellent Placements

-Outstanding variety of puzzles

-Presentable design

Cons:

-Not too addictive

-Too difficult

Ratings:

Creativity: ____/_____

In terms of design, the creativity was alright. If I were to base this on the puzzles, I could say that the puzzles were pretty creative.

Placements: _____/_____

Excellent placements. I'm impressed.

Originality: ____/_____

Some puzzles may be used, but most of the puzzles that I have seen are pretty new.

Addictiveness: __/_____

This game may be amazing in a lot of aspects, but addictiveness isn't one of them, sadly.

Difficulty: ___/_____

I didn't really enjoy the difficulty of this game. It was just too freaking difficult for almost anyone to finish.

Overall: ___.6/_____

Conclusion:

The score of this game may not be all that high, but in my honest opinion Whisper deserves a feature. Oh look, it was already featured long ago. Okay, well not TOO long ago. Nevertheless, this game does deserve it's spot on the featured games page for being more than just your average game. And, to be honest, I do think this game can match up to a lot of other great puzzle platformer games. Great job dudki. I'll be looking forward to your future game projects. And to everyone who took 123456 minutes to read this review, thank you so much for reading. Much appreciated.
