Being Ultimate is a game created by radeonz9

Introduction:

Ohaider. It's been a while since I've been active or done anything useful on sploder, so I'll start being more active by writing this review on Radeonz9's game. I'm not really familiar with this user at all. I really don't know him, and it seems that the people of sploder barely know him as well. (Take note that I'm just basing this on how much views he gets on each of his games on average.) I was actually planning to review his game, Being Ultimate, as soon as I saw the thumbnail and the creator. Since it seemed well, different from the usual. I almost didn't review this game due to the fact that I found it too difficult. So, I didn't think I would be able to write a constructive and proper review. But radeonz9 posted on my personal review station, and I guess that sort of encouraged me to pursue writing this review since he seemed to want to hear my opinion on it. The thumbnail piqued my interest and he was a member whom I didn't know at all. Plus, this game is featured. I find it very hard to find new talent on sploder so I wanted to see if it was a truly feature-worthy game.

Review:

Let me tell you all this: I am really, REALLY bad at completing games. I feel pretty ashamed that I died just because I bumped into an enemy that was somewhat similar to a magikarp. (I'm talking about that red fish thingy in that just won't stop following you. Ugh, stalker. >:/) I guess he finally leveled up, hard work does seem to pay off. But, it didn't for me. After numerous trials on this game, I eventually gave up and decided to see the walkthrough video that Radeonz9 provided me with. I only noticed that this game had a storyline when I was about to give up. To be honest though, I didn't find the storyline too interesting. To me, it's just like the story of another superhero. 'You were made powerful to do this, that, save the world and blah, blah, blah. I'm really getting tired of that poop. I also think that the game could have had a better title because in my opinion, 'Being Ultimate' sounds like a pretty awkward title to stick with.

If you read my first paragraph, you already know what I'm going to be writing in this one. Let me tell you this: One does not simply finish Being Ultimate. It is difficult as -. I was hoping to reach a bit further than the first level, but noooo. Magikarp was able to kill me using splash. This 'ultimate life form' isn't that ultimate after all. :/ But, you know. Try and try until you succeed. Basically, I was able to reach until level 3. I was able to somehow get far-ish into the game. I really liked level 2 and level 5. Though I was not able to play level 5, it looked very, very fun. Level 2 was very addictive as well since you got those platforms that vanish once Magikarp touches them. (Radeonz, if this guy actually has a name, I'm sorry for not using it lmao.) But, the other levels looked and were very fun to play through. It was frustrating yet fun, frun. xD Though, the game did start to seem a little tedious and boring once you get to level 6. I guess there was just too much levels and it just took too much time to finish, you'd just be too lazy to complete it.

The placements of this game were really something amazing. The enemies were placed so well that it was pretty difficult to avoid them. (*Erm* Magikarp *Ahem* Actually, the manta ray guy was also well placed.) I liked how the elevators (Both the enemy elevator things and the normal elevators.) were placed really well. Everytime I have to jump towards a different elevator, there's so much tension because of the hazards that move around and block your path. Though the enemies and those platforms were placed in really good places, it just gave me that feeling that I have to arrange everything. It felt messy, especially the placements in level 1. My inner OCD just wanted to redesign that level just to make it a little bit more organized, but at the same time if it were to be rearranged, it could jeopardize the good gameplay and difficulty it had. Levels 7 was the complete opposite. It felt pretty organized and I had no problems with it, except I found the enemies that followed you around pretty annoying since the movements seemed so awkward. Anyway, that really shouldn't matter. Overall I appreciated the placements, especially the enemy placements.

The game design in general, was well done. At times though, it felt messy. Just like the placements, some of the designs in the back and foreground felt out of place. Like, what the heck are you doing there? Where's your mommy? or something like that. I don't know. Anyway, I loved the designs of levels 3 and 6. It was just so detailed. Each level individually was very good though. There was a plethora of colors that blended well together. Radeonz9 really took advantage of that tile designer thing, whatever it's called. What I didn't really appreciate in the game design would be the lava graphics. They just looked so effortless compared to everything else, it annoyed me a lot throughout the game. Same goes to the enemy designs. I'm not talking about Magikarp and that manta ray, they were really impressive. I'm talking about those awkward looking skull blocks. They were the most out of place things in the game. They didn't match at all with everything else. Level 8 stood out as well, since it didn't seem to match the theme that Radeonz was going for at first. It's like, "How did I get to this place?" I know it's a boss battle and all, but it still should at least match a bit more. Radeonz9 could have done better than that.

I usually end my reviews with a paragraph for the design, but I decided to add this one last paragraph just to tell you all how amazingly creative this game is. Every single level was something totally new. The gameplay's pace could change to slow, moderate and fast. Most of the time though, it was pretty fast considering the fact that you had to evade magikarp and his homies. The boss level, level 7, level 6, level 5, level- screw that. All of the levels were really creative. This guy just doesn't run out of ideas. Some were used concepts, but he was able to reuse these concepts and put them up in a whole new level of fun and excitement. Sometimes the game is direct, you can easily identify your objectives and what to avoid, but at times Being Ultimate is like a mind-boggling puzzle. You would have this amazingly stupid look on your face just wondering what the heck you're supposed to do. I applaud you for this, radeonz9. In every game that I make, thinking of more stuff to put is usually- no, it's always my main problem. I find it very challenging to grasp, combine and create new and old ideas.

Pros:

-Addictive gameplay

-Good placements

-Colors and textures blended with each other very well.

-Catches attention at first glance of the thumbnail.

-Magikarp (Yep.)

Cons:

-Game is too long for the average person to withstand finishing.

Ratings:

Creativity: ____.5/_____

This definitely creative. 'Nuff said. But since I consider creativity and design as one, the messy design was the main cause of why this category did not score a perfect 5.

Placements: ____.5/_____

Good placements gameplay-wise, but the placements didn't really please my eyes as much because it felt really messy at times.

Originality: _____/_____

Some concepts seemed new in Being Ultimate. Some concepts were already very used, but kudos to radeonz9 because he was able to step these old concepts up.

Addictiveness: ____/_____

Gameplay is addicting at first, but it may get boring as you progress.

Difficulty: ___/_____

The game was just too difficult for the average sploderian to finish, but at the same time, it presented a good challenge which made it pretty fun as well.

Overall: ____.2/_____

Conclusion:

Overall, this game deserves a round of applause for being able to impress me, and maybe even you, the readers. You guys deserve an applause as well, you know, if you were able to bear with me by reading this whole review word for word. I'm glad you didn't fall asleep! Now just read these last few sentences and live with me! If this game weren't featured already, I would have featured it. EGL? No. It can't match up to games as good as Youngcaliman's, Obe's and so on. I wouldn't say it's really close to getting into the EGL, but it's still a very well crafted game. I can tell you that. Being Ultimate is a must-play for users who want to see a visually appealing, (This not for the ones with a major issue of OCD, though.) challenging yet fun and a diverse PPG. This game went over my first expectations of it and I salute you, radeonz9 for creating an amazing game. I guess I was right about the first thing I thought about this game though, it was different and it kind of stood out compared to the other PPG's out there. I expect more great things from you from now on, don't disappoint me! You have the potential to do even better, radeonz9.

Lastly, thank you all for reading my review! This is Mash, now going to sleep in a bit. See you all soon and I hope you guys would still read my reviews! I would greatly appreciate any comments on my review. It would really help me improve my skills in writing. :D
