Introduction:

Ohaider everyone, this is Mash again with yet again another review. This time I'll be reviewing a game by a pretty well known member on sploder. That is none other than blackhole2, someone who definitely has more features than I do. I lose to his game making skills by a long shot. Anyway, I have reviewed one of his games before. I reviewed his PPG called 'Escape' a long while back. I was so impressed by that game that I had to feature it at that time. I wonder if I'll be just as impressed with Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators or even better. Well, this game is featured already so I'm hoping that it's going to be yet another great game from him. Also if you really haven't noticed, this game obviously has a prequel called 'Sherlock Bones'. I've never really played that game before so I really have no idea what the storyline is and whatsoever. And with that little intro and reminder thingy, let's get on to the review.

Review:

So when I heard the title, "Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators" I wasn't even expecting anything related to dogs at all. I thought it would be some sort of skeleton thing, but I don't really know. All I could think of with that title at the time are mysteries and puzzles, something I'm not really good at. (Yet I still got pretty far in. My brain is just so weird.) Well anyway, it took me a while to get used to the graphics in the game. I'm not saying they look terrible, though. I just wasn't expecting Sherlock Bones to be, well a dog. I do like how blackhole2 started the game. I think the option of choosing your desired weapon to use was a very good move considering most, if not all RPG games (Not the sploder games, the other ones like Skyrim, etc.)provide you with that. I also found it pretty amazing that a giant RPG game like this had absolutely no lag on my part even if the game had designs that were pretty extravagant. I would like to just add this little last thing in, I appreciated how the game's pace is mostly up to you. Sure, it could go pretty fast since you have to avoid the enemies because your health is low and all that stuff. But most of the time, you define just how fast you want to go. I really liked that, it made me enjoy the game a lot more. Anyway, my first few impressions on this game are pretty good so far considering that I'm not too fond of sploder's RPG games.

"Hey Mash, how difficult was the game?" I'm pretty sure one of you would ask me that sooner or later. Anyway, Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators is really a challenge for anyone who decides to play this game. Even the 10 difficulty rating at the beginning of the game is lying to you. It think it deserves a 12 for how difficult it is. You really have no idea where to go at first, it was pretty confusing. But once you do get further into the game, you'll be able to understand what and why you were doing all this. Or maybe I'm confused because I didn't play Sherlock Bones first. As for the addictiveness, I think it was just in the middle. At times it could be really fun but during other times it can just get pretty repetitive, bland and boring. Or maybe it's because I tried to do all sidequests in the game, those were the most repetitve of all in my honest opinion. The quests may sound somewhat different, but all you do most of the time is just to beat the enemies up and hope you did what they asked you to do so you can get some powerups and stuff.

The placements of Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators was very good. I think the blocks were placed in perfect places, it made the game all the more difficult and every single little block placed in the game seemed to be well planned out. Though I think the health you can get around the game should be increased by a little bit just to reduce the difficulty a bit. I didn't really enjoy the enemy placements of the game though. I think in some parts, there were just too many of them all in one crowded area. This didn't really happen too frequently though; most of the time the enemies were placed in good areas, places perfect for a fight. I think the puzzles and traps were placed very well throughout the game. Especially the traps since I fell for almost every one of them. (Does the well of misfortune count as a trap? Because I felt very unfortunate that I just fell in there and died on my first playthrough. Correct me if I'm getting some errors witht the names of the areas and stuff. My memory is the worst.) Some puzzles and traps were old, some were new. I liked that sort of old and new feel that Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators had. Overall, I think the placements are one of the most impressive things that Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators had to offer.

Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators had one of the most mind blowing designs that I've ever seen. I seriously am impressed because the game is so large and so detailed. But, it ran so smooth and lagless. It even had the lighting settings on, it wasn't put in 8 bit version to reduce the lag and such because lag basically didn't exist. Anyway, I like how Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators had such an intricate design throughout. It felt a bit messy and a bit too detailed, but I really appreciated how the names of the places in the game matched the theme of the area. If the place is Grasshollow, you'd see a reddish area with 5% grass! Isn't that great? Nah, I'm joking. The names of the places did match with the design of the areas in the game. I think it's due to the lighting effects that Grasshollow didn't feel that 'grassy' or something if that's a word. xD I did say in the paragraph above that the placements are one of the things that are really impressive in this game, but the design and the general aesthetics of Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators hands down, is the most impressive thing that the game has to offer. The design of this game overall is just beautiful.

Pros:

-Amazing design

-Great block placements

-Impressive puzzles and traps

-The game's pace was very balanced.

Cons:

-Too difficult for the average user.

-Not the most addictive game out there.

-Too long for most to fully enjoy.

Ratings:

Creativity: _____/_____

I think Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators is just very creative overall with its design, puzzles, traps and storyline.

Placements: ____/_____

I wasn't impressed with all the placements, like the enemy and health placements; but I think blackhole2 did a good job on it overall.

Originality: ____.5/_____

I think the game is very original and unique compared to other games. It just didn't get the perfect score since I noticed that blackhole kind of overused some of the old and new concepts he had in the game.

Addictiveness: ___.5/_____

Not the most addicting game out there, it's so-so for me.

Difficulty: ___/_____

I didn't really like how difficult the game is overall because it really made the game less fun. (Though, I do understand that difficult games are supposed to be 'funner', but it wasn't in this case.)

Overall: ____/_____

Conclusion:

I think that Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators is a really good game and a must-try for anyone who's really bored and wants something to occupy hours and hours of their time. Overall, I think Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators does deserve its feature. EGL? I don't really think that the game is ready to be there just yet. Blackhole2, you have once again impressed me with another one of your games. I'll be looking forward to more of your future game projects I might even try out Sherlock Bones so I'd be able to understand Sherlock Bones 2 Conspirators more. Anyway, thank you guys and gals for reading this review. This is Mash, about to eat food because I have nothing else to do.
