Hey there! How is everyone today I hope youre all doing amazing! Today Im starting my first review on the main site. After a year of waiting I have finally got my reviewer badge. I apologize if Im a little rusty I havent written a review since last year (my application.) You may need a glass of water just in case the review becomes really dry. Today Im writing a review on Lavalinns great game Physics Journey.

The game in a nutshell is basically, you play as a little block that just completes platform levels. Its concept was fairly straightforward. The first few levels were fairly easy, pushing into further levels the difficulty slowly intensified. The first level you were in a sort of temple area, your objective was to just get to the ending (a door) pretty simpleright? It took me a good amount of attempts just to get to the end. There were spikes to avoid, enemy blocks, bombs and lets not forget the shooting carrots I wasnt sure what they were so I just called them shooting carrots, I hope lavalinn doesnt mind. Once you knew what you were doing you could whizz through the level. I dont think lavalinn shouldve used the door in most levels maybe he couldve spiced it up a bit. I have to say the second level mustve been my favourite, it was based on Mario. In the level you had a small screen to play on, well, thats how I would describe it, were every time you went down a pipe you would move to another sublevel. It was entertaining; the only con would be that there was a timer. If there is one thing I hate about games it would have to be a timer. The games scenery in some levels lacked amazement, level 2 couldve been a little more thought out scenery wise. The games concept wasnt at all special; it was just a simple platformer. But you got to hand it to him, he did spend considerable amount of time on it. Playing the game I found two cons, one was that the game lacked a storyline; I had no idea why I was going on a journey. The other was more game changing, the game was really slow, and that could be because of my laptop though. In my opinion lavalinn has quite the potential in ppg creation; I mean he does have two features, so my advice would be keep up the hard work.

Lets talk placement; I dont really feel that lavalinn needed to worry too much about placement. You could see that his ppg skills were fairly high, so most players would be easily distracted by that. The placement was adequate though, he really thought it out in most levels. In my opinion placement and scenery isnt always the most important addition to games. I think the games storyline/objective matters most so I dont seem to touch on placement that much; this is why this paragraph is so short.

Now for the scores:

Creativity: ___/_____

Addictiveness: ____/_____

Gameplay: ___/____

Scenery: ___/_____

Placement: ____/_____

Overall: ___/_____

Pros;

Fun

Challenging

Addictive

Cons;

Lacking Amazement

Not very unique

Lacking storyline

In conclusion this game was really enjoyable. On a whole lavalinn shows great potential in game creation. I do take an interest in platform type games. Feature worthy? No, because if this game was featured I could think of many more that could follow it. It really wasnt that original. The game also didnt amaze me and thats usually something an editor looks for. I hope this conclusion doesnt seem too negative, thank you for taking your time to read my review. I know its quite bad, it is my first review though.
