Hello everyone, svsv here. This is my first review in a hell of a long time, I'm back reviewing for my new reviewing company type thing that I've started on the forums Sploder's simple Reviewing squad (see forums for more information). I may be a little shabby with this first review but I'm going to give it my best shot anyway lol.

Right so firstly lets talk about about epicosauruss; I'd never really played anything by this member till he posted a game link in our thread, I played the link that was for a different at the time, I didn't get too far in his plat so started playing a different game. A shooter named Gang wars, epico then posted the link to that game in the thread so I decided to snap up the opportunity and review it!

Review

I've never really played a shooter game by epicosauruss before, and I didn't exactly know what to expect when I decided to play the game but I think he has a hidden skill in the shooter department because this game was actually pretty good. It's a big shooter that is sort of like a sandbox game to an extent, you can go and look around freely, and explore the map.

The story to the game is basically two rival gangs that are fighting against each other. I didn't really pay much notice to the story because there are loads of speech bubbles but I wanted to stay focused on the game and not stop every few seconds reading them all but from what I got you was basically going around killing the oppositions bosses, I don't think there was really much else to it although as I say I didn't really take that much notice of it.

Through wondering through this very open game there are a lot of enemies scattered around the place, some are in very annoying places that deal you some heavy damage at time and there was point in the game when I was just about clinging on to that last bit of health in hope of not dying. Also due to lag the enemies were a little more harder to kill so this also made more of a challenge. The placement of health and ammo though was actually quite perfect, giving the game more of a challenge and making you tread carefully when you're low on health. There are also some ally ships in the main battle area which just represent the war going on really, and seemed to get in the way more than help.

Traps and puzzles were few and far between really, there was a few traps that I noticed and on one occasion fell right into and had to start over (which bleeped because this is a long game), but other than that the traps can be avoided by the average shooter player who knows what there doing. Puzzles as well I didn't really see much of, there was switch pollys which I wouldn't count as a puzzle exactly but were somewhat of a challenge at times, but the only puzzle type thing I noticed was a spider placement and even that was just down to placement really.

I wouldn't say that much effort really went into the scenery of the game but it didn't look terrible, for the big format it was on I understand it would take ages going around making every last inch of the map look perfect so it is understandable, although there are some parts that look nice and the main area has lots of tree's which I thought was nice and made fighting a little easier having thing's to hide behind at times.

Conclusion

I think overall Gang wars is a very respectable little creation. I like the game and I did enjoy playing it, and despite having to go backwards and forwards up and down the map I did enjoy the travelling to an extent. I wouldn't consider the game to be feature worthy because there is a lot of thing's it doesn't have and it is quite slow paced. Yes there is always enemies coming at you but it's all the same sort of thing, just travelling around looking for keys. One thing I will say though is I do like this game, I couldn't manage to complete it and that bleeped me off so I know by that, that I did enjoy this lol.

I hope to see more shooters like this and better from epicosauruss because he does have potential.
