Intro:

Hey guys, it's theknockout back for another review and today marks my first shooter review (my grandma would be proud). For this shooter I am reviewing as you have probably already guessed, Nightmare Demolition!

Pre-thoughts:

The thumbnail for me wasn't typically exotic at all, in fact it was rather bland for me, it was very basic, no decoration, just a couple of turrets and a switchpoly. Not the greatest of starts. Moving on to Australia himself now. I seriously have no idea who Australia actually is really, I've never heard of him, will I remember him from this game? I don't know yet. So, how exactly did I find this game? It was simply in the ASG review scan list and as you have probably guessed...I accepted it.

Gameplay:

Even though it is true I'm not going to say dynamic over and over again this time. In fact I have many other things to say about the game. There wasn't much of a variety of enemies to me, it seemed to be turrets. motars and disruptors the whole time for what I've played so far. There was actually some very nice puzzles in this game which I will explain later. Back on track now. The placement was very well done really, I found that the range between the player and motars let the motars attack you while you got froze by disruptors, it's not new but is still very effective. The map design was very well planned out also, there wasn't many unique twists and turns but the map layout in general was just overall very well made. Nightmare Demolition is also extremely fast paced itself, you just have to move around, surviving destroying enemies. No wonder it's called Nightmare Demolition! Another thing though, there was no story! For me, every good featured game has to have a story. If I were to make a suggestion for the story it would be that you had a nightmare and you couldn't escape...the only way to escape is to find the 6 crystals hidden among the shadows. But that's just a very basic idea. I also disagreed with the playfield colour. The title contains nightmare so I was expecting a dark grey colour.

Puzzles/traps:

Argh, this one puzzle gets me all the time! This one glitchy puzzle, I have no idea how Australia did it but I love it! It's a glitch to make the open and close sensor deactivate and activate at random squares. How did he do it? I have no idea. Besides that there isn't much to talk about. Wait! One more thing, while the puzzles took place the switches were underneath enemies...very common.

Scenery:

The scenery isn't great on this one, there wasn't much "proper" decoration like polys on extra-terrestrial areas at all. But for me the main piece of scenery was the map design. The extra-terrestrial areas were well created with the map and looked very neat.

Difficulty:

Hard. Nightmare Demolition is actually particularly hard in fact. As I previously mentioned, I always die at a certain part. So yes, particularly hard.

Ratings:

Gameplay: 4.5/5

Scenery: 2.5/5

Puzzles/traps: 4/5

Difficulty: 4/5

Creativity: 3/5

Total: 19/25

Feature worthy: No, Australia still has a lot of work to do but he's getting there.

Conclusion: Nightmare Demolition is a fast paced challenging game, worth a play if you ask me.

Over and out commander.
