Prethoughts

To be quite honest, I was simply bored and had nothing to do, so I went to the forums and pleaded for a game to review. Npc10000 was the first to respond, and he requested for me to play and review his game System. I copied and pasted the link and started to play the game. I was pleased with the result.

Review

System started off with a small little puzzle that automatically sent the player a message that this game would indefinitely be puzzle based. In fact, the game's storyline involves you being in a puzzle, just working little puzzles, one at a time until you solve the last and final puzzle: your way out of the system which you've got yourself trapped in.

The design and placement was nice. For some reason, I really like when people who use floor blocks instead of tiles, I don't know why. It gives it a more technology-like feel, which fits this game perfectly. The lights that illuminate your path out were pretty cool. You start the game in the depths of unknown darkness, then suddenly you are thrust out of it.

The puzzles were good, but the first couple puzzles seemed copied off of other games and just put into different tiers separating them. They also were really obvious and easy, but if you have a laggy computer like mine, the most simple tasks that succeed the first three or four puzzles just makes this game ridiculously hard to finish.

All the action was in the puzzles and little bit here and there in non-puzzle related bits of System, so I can't really say to much about it. The puzzles were intense and pretty much covered up the little parts where action and hitting stuff was involved.

To sum it all up, this game was good, although it's only one level long. It's fun, interesting, and unique. Sword bashing is a pretty helpful skill in this game, and having a knack for solving puzzles, without lag catching up to you and sealing your doom. I personally enjoyed it, and Npc10000 did a good job creating this game. My only suggestion is maybe adding a couple more levels, even though the only level it contains is a bit large.

Pros

-Nicely made.

-Floor blocks instead of tiles. :3

-Challenging.

Cons

-Only ONE level. If there were more levels, the stuff could've been more spaced out.

-Lag hater.
