Pre-thoughts:

Shadow world has been made by my sort-of friend 8BitGamer, he used the original map, but like always has added his own blocks to the mix. To be really honest, I have palyed 3-4 of his games that he's hyped before. He also tested a good 2-3 games for me aswell. Anyway, 8bit seems to pride himself on making games out of literally just puzzles. I mean, his latest platformer was just emaculate. I'm hope this game is will be good, but as I can tell so far, no-one has beaten this epic game of glory and I didn't actually manage to beat it, so I have to say that the traps and puzzles were good.

Review:

The design of this game is over-powering and propelling. I know it seems like I compliment every game I review, but this one truly deserves it. The map and block placement is what got me going for this game. I mean, of coarse it was requested in my thread, but it shows talent. Especially in the way that block were and are placed, so far I have enjoyed the quite thoroughly even though I didn't beat it. The so called 'space trees' are brilliant and it shows that 8BitGamer knew what he was doing when he created this epic game of huge proportions. Even though I found a few problematic things the 'puzzles placement' (excluding the yellow spider), I knew that it had the blocks just right. Now to show how good this game really is: It has won the 'Original maps' contest and a few others. However, no matter how original the game is, no-one can feature it. It's too short, but the good thing is that there is no lag when playing Shadow world. I know that I'm repeating myself, I sound cleche and probably look like and idiot, but this game is good, but I can't talk about the puzzles and such yet D:

W00t! Puzzles. To say the very least the puzzles were great and probably one of the few things that kept this game from getting a bad score, because quite frankly, there were pretty much no traps from what I saw. But that's what adds to the puzzle score, there were heaps of puzzles and my favourite, the yellow spider, I mean it's quite ingenious, but not original, nor his own. But I am happy to say that I did not find the pusher trap/puzzle, so I suppose that I can give this some originality, because it's been three months scince I have found a shooter without it. Now I know that this will be an awesome score, you have to understand that this was actually made for the forum contests that we have along with each other so that forums aren't quite so boring, if you know what I mean.

I loved the placement of the enemies and hazards in Shado0w world. The enemies were not the type that annoyed the hell out of you, but more the type got you puzzled and confused and again I hit on the spider to say that it is a greatly placed enemy that was what kept the game alive, because up until then it was all easy, especially the start and the turrets. That and the turrets were so easy to dodge and then claim your health. The other idea that I liked about this was that 8BitGamer didn't force me to do anything at all, I chose to go to the spider and turrets because I thought they would be useful, but it turns out that the game was all open-plan and it didn't matter where you went or why you went to certain places and then the enemies would affect you.

Scores:

Puzzles: 3/5

Enemies hazards and traps: 4/5

Length: 3/5

Originality: 5/5

Overall: 4/5

Well done, I hope you can keep this up, 8bit. Also, there is an award coming your way!
