Mission 6B: Vape Outpost Zeta!

OBJECTIVE: Destroy Gamoran Communications/Sensor Outpost Zeta! INTELLIGENCE DATA: The outpost is defended by about 5-10 disruptors and 5-10 reversers stationed in an outer ring. In addition, a speeder scout has been sent to intercept you. Then, there is the outer wall of the outpost, shaped like a rectangle. Behind the wall is a ring of 5 speeder scouts. Behind that is a ring of five communications/ scanning drone turrets, each protected by a ring of armor. There is one more commscan turret in the center of the outpost, also with a ring of armor around it. Each of the 6 commscan turrets is powered by an atomic power core. Although the recently rebuilt commscaners are not yet operational, they can still launch drones! STRATEGY: Smash though its defenses quickly, and get to the atomic power cores. Then, wreak havoc! TACTICS: Dispatch the speeder scout with missiles (z), then fly around the outpost until you get to the eastern wall. When you near the outpost, use your long range sensor map (press shift) your J-ray (x) and bombs (c) to avoid and/or smash through the outpost's defenses. We recomend that you use the blaster to creep up on the disruptors and knock them out from maximum range. Don't worry about the repellers, though, as you can deal with them later. After that, target the armored wall around the outpost, then fly in as fast as you can, avoiding the speeders, and take the atomic power cores. Once you have one, wreak havoc with bombs, missiles, and j-ray. Take out the inner outpost first, then destroy the outer defenses. BACKGROUND DATA: Now that we have eliminated the immediate threat to our borders, we can press on to other objectives. We need to raid and destroy Outpost Zeta. It is a communications/sensor outpost. Although you already stole its crystals and destroyed its commscaners last mission, the Gamoran are in the process of rebuilding them. They are not yet operational, not having crystals and such, but there defensive drones can still launch, as they do have an atomic power core. If we knock out the outpost completely, and secure the area, the Gamoran can't rebuild and it will be harder for the Gamoran to call for reinforcements, seeing the enormous threat presented by the Vanguard class prototype strike ship. This is an important mission, and a stepping stone to greater victories! Success!
